S l 'xiliil x 5 A -. 1 J The Goofe rs with Coach The Sputniks with Coach Joe Lindeman Ray Schreiber POWDER PUFF BOWL Something new in the history of sports took place at Windthorst when the girls tried their hands at football. After the first days of practice, the school halls could be heard to echo with oh's and ah's as in a hospital ward. Athough the rules we re somewhat modified the game was strehous. The highschool girls were divided into two teamsg Sputniks and Goofers. Both teams strove to be victorious but in the end the Goofers overran the Sputniks. This unusual attraction brought a crowd of spectators. Proceeds of the game were added to the High School Athletic Fund. The Lions Club requested the girls to play at Archer to aid in the drive to raise money for the Swimming pool.
