Biology Class The language of science is something that y students have difficulty in mastering and 0 general science helps them over this hurdle ,y supplying a somewhat limited but accurate cientific vocabulary. Biology, which is being offered this year, eaches us to be more appreciative of living hings in our environment. Both plants and nimals are studied and an awareness of all the Drms of life, --visible and invisible is brought .ome to us. For example the water is our stock tanks is with visible forms of life including the of the mosquito that bothers us on a sum- r night as well as the tiny slipper -shaped ramecium. Y rs and Seniors expound Geometry Since greater emphasis is being placed on the study of the natural sciences it is only right that we give them a proper emphasis in our curri- culum. Chemistry, Biology, and general science are the courses made available to us. Chemistry and biology are given on alternate years and general science is offered every year. In general science the student is introduced to a little astronomy, geology, physics, chem- istry, botany and zoology. This helps to givea foundation for a better understanding when bi- ology or chemistry are studied more in detail. i D. Freshmen study General Science This science leads unmistakably from a study of the creature to the Creator,Who made and guides the destinies of each of these His creatures. Thus we prove again that science and religion go hand in hand and do not in any way contradict each othe r. Mathematics is inseparable from the science mentioned above. All types of mathematics are helpful here but more especially a knowledge of geometry and algebra. By means ofthese and other more advanced forms itis possible for scientists to predict the path of the earths satellites and give the time and position where they may be seen. An immense amount of mathematics as well as mechanical skill goes into the planning and firing of even the simplest missile, much less a satellite. Remem- ber the scientists of tomorrow are the students of today, and although we don't expect to find a Von Braun around here, we do want to prepare ourselves for the space age in which we live.
