1 SOCIAL STUDIES Social Studies in our school in- cludes World History, American History, and Civics. Each of these serves a special purpose in our education. Juniors and Seniors are exposed to American History. First of all in World History we become acquainted with the people and events of the past. From this we are able to see their mistakes so we may profit by them in our life. We are able to compare their progress and discoveries with ours and even with the missile program some- times we wonder if they weren't more advanced than we. Through our American History we gain knowledge of our background, ancestors and the people who fought so valiantly so we could have the freedoms and democratic form of government we have today. We are able with our improved knowledge to better our country and help in its pro- gress. Mr. Schroeder expounds World History to Sophomores. ln Civics we learn about out 'ernment. We develop ideas iow we can help. our government, I we can better understand it if aj lthus be good citizens. With all F' 43 se courses in social studies surely should be able to make our country even better place in which to live. n ,A
