Our final year of high school has come to a close. We have crossed a bridge in the journey of life. Now on the other side, we pause to look behind us . . . We remember that before we crossed our bridge we were anxious to see what was on the other side. We wondered what our future years would bring us. Once we began our journey, preparation took the place of wonder — we prepared ourselves to successfully meet the future. We found that through interaction with our fellow travelers we could all benefit from each other ' s mistakes. Consequently, all along the way our character was developing as we were striving to better ourselves. We learned that the develop¬ ment of our admirable qualities and the overcoming of our flaws were the necessary ingredients for suc¬ cess. Our four-year journey across the bridge has enabled us to grow in wisdom and maturity. ... As we stand on the new bank looking behind us, we realize that this bridge is only a small part of our journey in life. A long road lies before us — a road on which we will continue to grow and learn. Our bridge has provided us with the experiences to guide us along this path. Our capability of retaining the lessons of the past and using them to meet the challenges of the future will be our most powerful asset.
