Windsor Locks, Ct. 1 Page Page Underclassmen Page 176 Page is not yesterday: We ourselves change: How can our works and thoughts, if they are always to be the fittest Continue always the same? Change, indeed, is painful; yet ever needful; and, if Memory have its force and worth, so also has For his constant interest time . . . advice . . . devotion . . . loyalty . . . perseverance. . . firmness. . . humor. . . support. . . and guidance . . . we dedicate the 1975 HERALD to . . . George Anastasia O Page The Editor ' s Riddle Question: How do you get a goose out of a bottle without hurting the goose or breaking the bottle? Sometime or another in life you will encounter a similar riddle, the solution of which may appear physically impossible. However, with a positive attitude and a strong enough desire, you CAN get the goose out of the bottle without hurting the goose or breaking the bottle. The first thing you must remember is that the mind can overcome physical “impossibilities.” If you can envision some solution, the problem can be solved. Secondly, you must persist and not give in to the ridicule of others who cannot see beyond physical barriers. They will tell y ou that the riddle can only be solved through ultimate destruction. And, indeed, if such unimaginative people were to try to solve the problem, the goose and the bottle would both be hurt. The key to this or any other riddle lies in never underestimating the power of the mind and will. If you can see a possible solution in your mind and care enough about the goose to give your time, effort, and consideration to the problem, the riddle can be overcome. The impossibilities and seeming barriers will disappear and you will reach a peace of mind. At this point, you can solve this or any other riddle and honestly say . . . Answer: There! It ' s out! M.E.K. Page Page FALL Could this little old road be luring me now Deep into autumn’s fold, Through the glorious light of the noonday sun That illumines the trees of gold? Through the vista that wanders and curves its way Along the dreaming hill Through a radiant wood of leaves and boughs That ring with the warblers’ trill? Could this little old road be enticing me now Through the Indian summer heat, Where the meadows are sprawling with flowers and grass And the orchard is mellow-sweet? Where the faraway hill stirs and glistens anew In the beautiful autumn glow? Could this little old road be beckoning now . . . My heart is eager, and I must go!
