It was really a dumb show: everyone went around speaking his heart. The people I know don’t do that and yet I’ve known them. I’ve known them from their moods — funny, irritated, sad, quiet, happy, and loving. I’ve known them from what they’ve given — a nickname, extra ice cream, a key chain, two cookbooks, and love. And I’ve known them from what they’ve shared — a private rendition of the Keebler Cookie song, peppermints, brand-new sweaters, a beautiful experience in another place, free car wash passes, and love. I watched the end of the movie last night: it was really a dumb show. The people I know don’t speak their hearts and yet they’ve shown their love. I thought I found him in the cold shade of the trees But he slipped away. All I held were The faded flowers of my velvety tropical garden. I didn’t get up one morning and then I could see My eyes were closed. It was light. I found him where he should be Not near, not far. there A tiny tendril of the minty vine. I found growing within me flourish and end my vine. cn Page Page Page MARK V ACQUAOTTA Quatts” Life ' s Dream: Track Coach Activities: Cross-Country 1, 2, 3, 4, Capt. 4; Track 1, 2, 3, 4; Intramural Basketball 4 If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” GILBERT AMARO Gil” Life’s Dream: To beat Bobby Fischer in a game of chess Activities: Soccer 2, 3; Chess Club 3, 4; Intra- murals 1, 2, 3, 4 When all the great galactic systems sigh to a frozen halt in space, do you think there will be a vestige or a sniffle or a tear? She has shared with us her enthusiasm for activities, her love of music, her smile, her deep concern for others, and her warm, friendly manner. Huong’s reaction to the ceasefire announcement best shows her inner emotions. Shortly after the President’s speech she was crying so hard that she was unable to talk. The next day Huong wore a Vietnam¬ ese costume to school, despite the cold. She said Today I freeze. It’s worth it.” __ We were all glad to experience with Huong the joy and relief that qmne with the cease fire. After graduation Huong will tour part of rhe United States with other Ameri¬ can Field Service students and will then return to Vietnam. We will all remember and miss Huong long after she has returned to her home. 00 Page Page Page Page Page Page Page Senior Magazine Sale HOMEROOM CAPTAINS: Joan Tyrrell, Carol DeMaranville, Gail Lehman, Ed Kitchen, Judy Critz, Janet Plante, Elise Sawtelle, Carol Warwuck, Cindy L.
