CLASS HISTORY Volume I 4 The Yearlifzg Our freshman year, the commencement of our high school career, began on September 9, 1955. This, however, was our second year at the newly christened Windsor High School. Class officers were elected with the following results: President, Richard Lillibridgeg Vice-President, Cynthia Moran, Secretary, Eugenie Gelinasg and Treasurer, Jeanne Gillespie. Representing the freshman class on the Student Council were Richard Lilli- bridge, Walter Mips, and janet Labeskis. The following members of the freshman class were on the soccer team: jim Cirillo, john Winiarski, Walter Mips, and Frank Rideout. As a kickoff to the basketball season, a pep rally was held November 11, 1953. This sport also gave the freshmen an opportunity to share the spotlight, as jim Cirillo, Dick Lillibridge, Walter Mips, and Frank Rideout played junior varsity basketball. Freshmen members of the baseball team were jack Uzdarwin and Richard Lillibridge. We1'e Young and Gay Class officers for the sophomore year, 1954-1955, were: President, Walter Mips, Vice-President, Arline Yesaitis, Secretary, Barbara Palifka, Treasurer, Cynthia Stuart. The members of the Student Council were james Cirillo and Janet Labeskis. In September, 1954, the Daughters of the American Revolution presented a new flag to the school. The staff of the Loud Speaker, the school newspaper, for the period 1954-1955 was as follows: Merry Barnes, Girls' Sports, Kenneth Lamson, Boys' Sports, Reporters, joan Babcock, Gay Frosch, Ronnie Milkie, Cynthia Moran, Carol Granger, Barbara Palifka, and Charlotte Davis. The Dramatic Club presented the play, I Love Lucy. Sophomore members of the cast were Merry Barnes, Bonnie Furman, Cynthia Moran, Walter Mips, Dexter Dickinson, and Ronnie Milkie. Cynthia Moran played the lead. The Windsor High School Band, under the direction of Mr. Smith, was formed in our sophomore year. Sophomore members were Gay Frosch, Gail Frosch, Walter Mips, Neal Jordan, and Frank Dillon. The students who made the honor roll two marking periods or more were Madeline Bonturi, Joyce Buckavich, Frances Peteroski, Warren johnson, Pamela Love, Dorothy Noga, Gay Frosch, and Diana Sasportas. Sophomore members of the cheerleading squad were Janet Labeskis, Carol Granger, Mary Ann Maksimoski, and Arline Yesaitis. During the Christmas season, a pageant was presented to the student body with Arline Yesaitis taking a lead part. The members of the soccer team were Walter Mips, james Cirillo, Richard Lillibridge, jack Uzdarwin, john Winiarski, and Frank Rideout. The members of the basketball team were james Cirillo, Richard Lillibridge, and Frank Rideout. The members of the baseball team were jim Cirillo, jack Uzdarwin, and Richard Lillibridge. Volume III - Great Expertalionr School opened on September 8, 1955. Student Council representatives were james Cirillo and Janet Labeskis. On the Student Patrol were those who had been elected the preceding year. The soccer team boasted the following juniors: james Cirillo, Walter Mi s, john Winiarski, Richard Lillibridge, Richard Warner, Warren johnson, Neal jordjan, and Frank Rideout. The record was five wins and four losses. Those juniors on the basketball squad were Richard Lillibridge, james Cirillo, Walter Mips, Frank Rideout, john Winiarski, Robert Chapman, and Frank Dillon. Charles Kingsbury was the manager. The junior members of the baseball team were Richard Lillibridge, Frank Rideout, james Cirillo and Lynn Frantz. The assistant manager was john Cronsell. The golf team, started in the junior year, had as members Jack Uzdarwin and Gerald Sibley. New cheerleaders this year were Martha Anderson and Nan Hinson, Warren Johnson was awarded the Harvard Book Award for the most outstanding junior boy. Barbara Case, Richard Warner, Charles Swift, and 'Warren Johnson participated in a trip to the U.N. Dexter Dickinson and Warren johnson represented the class in the Living Statues. Elected to Laurel Girl's State were Carol Granger and jane LePire. 47 CLASS HISTORY Student Council members were Cynthia Moran, Eugenie Gelinas, janet Labeskis, and Carol Granger. Arline Yesaitis was chosen queen of the Oriental Paradise, the junior-senior prom. juniors participating in the talent show were Dot Holowieszko, Neal jordan, Walter Mips, Pat Champany, Charles Kingsbury, and Frances Peteroski. Pat Champany and Madeline Bonturi had solos in the Christmas Pageant. The rings came, our class was the first to have a standard ring. Our class Advisors, Miss Kelly and Mr. Calvert, left Windsor High at the end of the year. Volume IV - The Lax! Hurrah Class ollicers for the senior year, 1956-1957, were: President, Warren johnson, Vice-President, Cynthia Moran, Secretary, Arline Yesaitisg Treasurer, Gene Gelinas. Student Council members were Dexter Dickinson and Dick Lillibridge. The following seniors composed the 1956-57 soccer team: james Cirillo, Warren johnson, Neal jordan, Richard Lillibridge, john Longo, Walter Mips, Frank Rideout, Richard Warner, and john 'Winiarski. Windsor's record for the year stood at three wins and eight losses. An alumni game was held at Windsor High on December 26 in the school gym. The alumni teams took both the girls' and boys' games. All roceeds of the game were donated to the band to help pay for their newly-acquired unifgorms. The senior cheerleaders who contributed greatly in cheering our teams were: Captain, Carol Grangerg Secretary-Treasurer, Martha Anderson, janet Labeskis, Nan Hinson, and Dorothy Holowieszko. The students on the Student Patrol remained the same as in the junior year, with james Cirillo as Captain. The first dance of the senior year, headed by james Cirillo, was appropriately named Autumn Leaves and was a great success. Windsor High's basketball team included the following players: Co-Captains, james Cirillo and Richard Lillibridgeg regulars, Lynn Frantz and Frank Rideout. The team was coached by Mr. Gille Sauve, who replaced Mr. Burton Christensen. Mr. William johnson was the assistant coach of the basketball team. Arline Yesaitis received the D.A.R. Good Citizenship Award. In November the senior class sponsored the annual Sadie Hawkins' Dance. The general chairman was james Cirillo, assisted by ticket chairman, Frank Rideout, orchestra, Frank Dillon and Walter Mipsg refreshments, john Longo, Dick Warner and Frances Peteroski, publicity, Barbara Case. A skit, entitled The Last Day, written by Dexter Dickinson, Ronnie Milkie, Charlotte Davis, and Diana Sasportas, was presented at the dance. Its public appearances during the year included the lollwoing: Christmas Vespers in December, 19i6g Spring Concert in May, 1957. The group also appeared in the Gay Nineties Show given tor the senior high school in March, 1957. Co-Presidents tor the year were Cynthia Moran and Walter Mips. Dexter Dickinson served as Vice-President, and Arline Yesaltis and Frank Dillon served as Secretaries. joan Babcock and Margo Avedesian were the librarians. NINTH GRADE CHOIR The Ninth Grade Choir appeared in the Christmas Pageant of December, 1956, and in the Spring Concert in May, 1957. Bernice Albert and Gary Peterson acted as Co-Presidents for the organization. 1 BAND The Windsor High School Band is larger this year than it has been at any previous time.
