Secretary and Treasurer HE Vocational Agriculture Club was organized at the beginning of the school term to create in the student a greater interest in the work of the agriculture classes. Allstudents who have taken vocational agriculture are eligible to membership in the club. The work of the club consists of the study of animal breeding, animal hus- bandry, feeds and feeding, and poultry and dairying, the latter subjects being more advanced. . I , The Agn club gave its annual barnwarming the third of October, and as usual, it was quite a success. The building was rustically deco- rated with all kinds of brush, hay, corn-fodder and pumpkins, the decorations and fantastic farm costumes worn by everyone present forming an admirable background for the huge throne of baled straw on which sat in solemn majesty the queen of the occasion, Miss Ernestinc Spangenberg. After an interesting program the refreshments of cider, apples, sandwiches and pumpkin pie were served. I The Farmers,' had in their treasury 215100, which they donated to the school to be applied to the purchase of a motion picture machine. They also had a gentleman come to NVindsor to give an illustrated lecture, the proceeds being donated to the moving picture machine fund. Even after this the club did not believe it had given enough to the fund, so the members went out in the country to shuck corn, this money also being applied to the purchase of the machine. Finally the club presented a play entitled, Warned by a Dreamf, in which presentation it was assisted by the Home Economics Club. Half of the proceeds of the play were donated to the moving picture fund. The remainder of the pro- ceeds were divided equally between the Home Economics Club and the Vocational Agriculture Club. Vice-President KATHRYN COOPER . . Secretary and Treasurer ILENE NORRIS . ..... . Sponsor HE purpose of this course is 'to obtain, training in sew- ing, cooking, and home management. The Home Economics work is given in two courses, the elementary and advanced. The club is composed of the girls taking both courses. The advanced girls serve dinner every Thursday. The menu for each dinner is planned by one girl, who has en- tire management for that day. In this they not only get at lesson in self-reliance and responsibility but also one in thrift and in the planning, pregaring and serving of a meal. YVe have been very successful with our dinners this year, having saved enough money to buy a few dishes and some silverware. VVe are very proud of these and We hope to add to them soon. p The advanced girls with the help of the first year girls served a banquet to the members of the board of education, their wives and the entire school faculty. They also served a HFather and Son banquet for the Ag boys. The Home Ec. girls and Ag boys gave. a play to help pay for the picture machine. R Both classes went to Sedalia on an all day field trip. YVe visited different concerns and found many helpful as well as interesting things. ' BERNIECE MCLANE. l49l
