Cf course, being Freshmen, we lived up to our reputation by going into the Physics Class, for instance, and inquiring, Is this the algebra room, or is this English One? You can imagine the answers we received amidst shouts and laughter. VVe were really more pitied than looked down on by our superiors. In the orchestra, we had three members and also several members in the Glee Club. The following year we, most of us at least, entered as Sophomores, there being thirty-seven in this class. My, how we pitied the Freshmen. To us they seemed so green YVe had that year one member on the Greyhound Team and one member on the Lady Greyhound Teamg also eight members in the Glee Club. As Juniors we had thirty-five in our class. Now we realized one of our most ardent wishes, that of sittingiin the opera chairs during assembly. There were two Grey- hounds from our class, four members in the Glee Club, one member in the orchestra, and fourteen in the Home Ec. Club. Now we enter into our last school year, as a band of thirty-eight. Vile have one member on the Lady Greyhounds Team and four on the Greyhound Team. Hubert Smith, from our class, was awarded a trophy for being the most valuable man to his team, in the entire Clinton Tourna- ment. There are nine Seniors in the Home Ec. Club, and two members in the Quartette. VVe feel that we have ac- complished much during our school career and that we deserve that time-honored phrase, '6You are the best class that has ever been graduatedf' ' ANNIE LAURIE SALMON. I 21 l
