This group of Seniors has experienced some tough times and be- cause of these times in our lives we have become stronger within ourselves. We’ve learned how to support each other. We have also experienced many successes academically, athletical- ly, musically and socially. Tasting these moments we will go a little farther, work a little harder, and become a little smarter than most. We will see opportunities others may not. UNDERCLASSMEN LAURIE PURRINGTON-VICE PRESIDENT; ANN LEWIS-PRESIDENT; HEATHER VANNORMAN-SECRETARY JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS JUNIOR PROM-The junior prom was one of the things we really looked forward to. It was alot of work but we had fun planning it. UNITY-Our class has become very close over the years and its something we will always cherish. NEW OUTLOOK ON LIFE-We realize we will be on our own soon as we look at colleges and start planning our future. INDEPENDENCE-As each year goes by we gain greater indepen- dence which we all enjoy. OPPORTUNITY-This year we’ve had alot of opportunities-from visiting different colleges to acting in the class play. RESPONSIBILITY-This year we’ve had alot of responsibilities but we feel we took them to the best of our abilities. SPORTS-For many of us it was the first year on Varsity sports. It was hard but we enjoyed the challenge. We want to thank all the Seniors for the many fun times and great friendships you 've given us. Our first event was an all school choir singing of “God Bless the U.S.A. ”, This year we hosted the SIV Choral Festival with Dr. Mark Aamot as our clinician. We also had great success with our annual chili supper where we sang and raised record break- ing bucks. Our tour to the cities was awesome, and so was our clinic concert. This years clinician was Karle Erickson from Gustavus. Yep, these choral mamas are “tonally awe- some”! ROW 1: M. VanNorman. B. Carey, R. Lee, K. Wojahn, T. Thiner, B. Carey. W. Moede, J. The excitement and anticipation began the week of September 29. The busy week’s activities started out with Blue Blue and Gold Day. Monday evenings entertain- ment was provided by the girls powder puff football game, with a special appearance by Windom Area High School's very own “funny band.” Tuesday was MTV-Day where everyone dressed up as their favorite person. Entertain- ment for the night was provided by the girls volleyball team as they went into action against Mt. Lake. Wednesday was Opposite Sex Day with a blind-feeding-the-blind contest during the lunch shifts. Thursday was Inside-out and Sucker Day with a Chubby Bunny contest at noon and a volleyball game in the evening with the girls going against Jackson. October 3 at 8:20 the big day began. We were all excited about the crowning of king and queen. Dana Clark and Kelly Dalen kept things running smoothly as our Master and Mistress of Ceremonies. The Homecoming theme was “Glory of Love. ” There was plenty of entertainment and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The 1986 Fall Homecoming king and queen were Tom Kuecker and Lisa Nelson. The queen's atten- dants were Heather Anderson, Sheri Bretzman, Jana Jor- genson and Lis Snider. The king’s attendants were George Lewis, Kalan Malchow, Jared Ratzloff and Troy Stucke. That night we had the Fall Homecoming football game with Redwood Falls. After the game there was a dance featuring “The Metros. ” Thanks to all who put in the hard work to make 1986 Fall Homecoming a success! 109 WINTERFEST “Never Say Goodbye” was the 1987 Winterfest theme. The excitement of the Homecoming week began February 2. Monday started the big week with a bubble gum blowing contest at noon. Tuesday was the day everyone came in their pajamas and sweats for Come -4s You Are Day. Many girls left their make-up at home. Wednesday was the famous sucker and candy day. Thursday everyone came in their Sunday best for Dress-Up Day. Leading us through Coronation 7th hour were Master and Mistress of Ceremonies Lisa Nelson and Mike Wickie. Friday everyone came in their favorite boxers and shades for Hawaiian Day. Tom Kuecker won the matchbow race at noon. Kelly Dalen and Mark Nerhus were crowned as our 1987 Winterfest royalty. The royal court consisted of Rich Quar- berg, Marty Uhlhorn, Dana Clark, Paul Hintze, Jodi Skarpol, Tammy Hotzler, Sue Johnson, and Michelle Einck. Girl’s basketball, gymnastics, and wrestling were all in action during the week. The boys lost a heart breaker 52-54 Friday night against Worthington. A local favorite, Rocking Horse, gave us some great music to dance to following the game. A big thanks to everyone whohelped make the 1987 Winter- fest a huge success! ill JUNIOR CLASS PLAY 810!!
