Mulligan, Assistant Editor. It is with a feeling of satisfaction and pride that we look back on our efforts of creating this yearbook for you. It was not so large a task as it seemed at the time. We hope the long hours forfeited by the copy writers in their sessions: the typists who inevitably were made to type their copy overg the hard work of the Business Manager and Advisor in figur- ing the financial portion of the bookg the photographers who were on the job most of the time: and the Editor and As- sistant Editor, whose responsibility it was to combine the work of all these people into our book, have been worth- while. Not, at last, the staffs' efforts have been well re- warded. Here is the wonderful result of all that hard work-- your 1957 EAGLE. wir, l wr' LH TATTLER STAFF FRONT ROW: J. Nordby, R. Shortly after the year began, the announcement, Sign up for the TATTLER staff on the bulletin boards, was made over the intercomm. The TATTLER's year had begun. It wasn't long before Margaret began her monthly duty of handing out article assignments. Each article was clearly marked as to the date due, but sometimes it was like pulling teeth to get wr them in. This job was somehow accomplished, and as the last Monday of the month came, so did the paper. The de- lighted looks on the faces of the recipients were proof enough that the hard work of the staff was appreciated. With May came the last issue of this staff, and a hearty thanks for all their hard work should be extended to Margaret, as editor, Miss Johnson, as advisor, the typists, the reporters, the pho- tographers, and all the others who helped make the paper possible. 3 'Pi Q, ' 35 SPEECH CLUB FRONT ROW: B. The band again won the Mankato T. C. marching contest. CSoon they will have to build a room for our tropheysg The successful Fall and Spring Concerts were interrupted with several band pro- jects, such as Write right with an official Windomite Pen, and the magazine sales. The band was most proud the da their fla s arrived. They really looked sharp at those basketball games. The Spring Concert showed our band Y 8 like never before--the drummers didn't talk much, and the clarinet and flute runs sounded quite well. Again we found contest challenging and the results were gratifying. Our year was highlighted with the annual Band and Choir Banquet. Where do you suppose they find those jokes? Looking back at the amount of emoyment we re- ceived from band this year, we all agree that the many hours spent in practice were worthwhile. ke 43 V ,lug-F S Acton, N. Tegels, J. Mulligan, J. Rezac. Each individual learned that being a member of a choir meant that he must do his part if we were to have a good choir. Our efforts were rewarded by the compliments received after our first public appearance, the annual Fall Concert. No one will forget O Spirit Who From Jesus Came, or Make a Joyful Noise Unto God. The highlight of the program was 'American Pano- rama, with band accompaniment. The Christmas Concert will be remembered in years to come. Under the ex- cellent direction of Mr. Folin, each choir member performed to the best of his ability to make it a very impressive concert. Whenever the Hallelujah Chorus is mentioned, a smile seems to cross each merrrber's face. After it was dropped from the program, everyone decided to work twice as hard so we could sing it--and we did! We not only sang it for the Christmas Concert, but we recorded it along with the rest of the Christmas Concert to be broadcast over the Worthington radio station. After the contest, time seemed to fly until the seniors realized that they had sung with the choir for the last time. There were feelings of sadness mingled with pride in the hearts of the choir members as they saw the year come to an end. 47 GIRLS TRIPLE TRIO FRONT ROW: M. Wahl, P. Tschetter. ROW 2: B. Warren, C.
