Ron Bogue was voted Most Valuable Player while Bill Cholawa was named Best Blocker. Graduation will hit the Whippets hard when it takes the seniors from the squad. The meetings involved drawing up a constitution and byalaws and working on the Science Fair projects. The members enjoyed several outside speakers and held discussions of timely topics. The members of the Club provided valuable assistance in the handling of the W.H.S, Science Fair. Football game films were taken by club members. A Christmas Photo Contest was also held. Dick Griffin won second place in the Windham Science Fair with his exhibit, The Camera in the Science Lab. They participated in the Thanksgiving Assembly, gave six public appearances at churches and civic groups in December, appeared in the Fall Concert and the Christmas Assembly, and sang for the Willington P.T.A. in April. This group was, featured at the Fall Concert of the Music Department, and appeared in the State Band and Orchestra Festival at the University of Connecticut in May. It was again featured in the Spring Festival of the Music Department in june. The Chorus appeared in the Fall Concert and in the Christmas Assembly. On the plaques are printed names, events, and records. These swimming and track record plaques were paid for by Athletic Council funds. A committee has started to dig into the Willi77ld71IiC Chronicle files in order to obtain accurate records of the athletic history of Windliziin High. Another committee has also been working on a scrapbook of athletic events to be placed in the library upon its completion. The Council has also taken full charge of the concession stand at the basketball games. Two dances after the basketball games were sponsored by the Athletic Council this year. The Athletic Council has worked for the promotion of spring sports by placing posters around the school. The Aquatic Club has sponsored all areas of aquatics in the school and community including this year's Swim Team Banquet. The club also participated in the State 020 which is the Library Assistants Club. The Club was host to a Regional Librarians' meeting in April During spring vacation the seniors enjoyed an overnight trip to Boston where they visited historical spots and went to the theater. Monthly meetings were attended by the members of the club, and a food sale was held early in the year. The annual Commercial Club Banquet was held on the evening of May 6, at Lindy's. Mr. Paul Touchette, personnel director of the William Brand Company, was the speaker. Conference at the New Britain Teachers College in April, and the State Debate Tournament at the University of Connec- ticut in April. There have also been debates with other high schools during the months of january, February, March, and April. Tri-Ag Chapter has had its usual active year. Ed- ucational exhibits were shown at the F.F.A. Fair, Eastern States Exposition, National Resources Council Annual Meeting, and the Hartford Flower Show. Members attended the State F.F.A. Convention in July and the Eastern States Exposition in September. joseph Szegda attended the National Dairy judging at Waterltmo, lowag and Lucien Bessette and Louis Gagne took part in the National judging Contests at Kansas City in October. The Chapter took part in a Soil judging Field Day. Gordon Marrotte, Edmond Marrotte, joseph Szeda, and Herbert Bunnell placed fifth among fifteen teams at the Plant Science Contest at UConn in November. The Annual Parent and Son Banquet was held in February, and the group sponsored a Fun Nite which featured an F.F.A. Faculty Basketball Game and Square Dancing.
