The first year we picked Kenneth Williams, President, Kendall Williams, Vice-President, Joan Bronner, Secretary, and Diane Allen, Treasurer. The class selected Janet Shippee and Alan Cote to represent them on the Athletic Council. Freshman Night, a party sponsored by the Student Council on September 14 in the Case Gym, was our first social gathering. 1952-1953 As sophomores we had acquired a higher standing-after all, there were freshmen below us! We elected George Lange, President, Francis Shea, Vice-President, Shirley Gesner, Secretary, Joan White, Treasurer, and Mr. John Deady as our faculty advisor. Shirley Gesner and Kendall Williams reigned over Midnight Magic. our sophomore dance, held on March 21, in the Case Gymnasium. The floor centerpiece was a paper pumpkin coach with vines rising to a cluster of pastel-colored balloons. The gym walls and bleachers were adorned with colorful representations of appropriate details from the story of Cinderella. Chairmen for the dance were Betty Bernitt, Diane Allen, Gwendolyn Tibbits, Janet Shippee, Barbara Abood, and Alan Cote. 1953-1954 As juniors we were now upperclassmen and respected by all. Our officers were Alan Cote, President, Kendall Williams, Vice-Presidentg Mary Smith, Secretaryg Barbara Abood, Treasurerg and Mr. Thomas Lawson served as our Junior faculty advisor. Alan Cote and Barbara Abood were elected as our representatives to the Athletic Council. Jeannette Constantine and William Lange were co-chairmen of the Junior Prom which was held May 15, in the Case Gymnasium. The theme of the dance was Paradire. Queen Barbara Abood reigned at the dance. Members of her court consisted of Shirley Gesner, Diane Allen, Joan White, Mary Ann Cancellero, Jeannette Constantine, and Joan Marrotte. The theme of the dance was carried out by the gym's star-spangled ceiling and the castle occupying the center of the floor. 1954-1955 Our last year at Windham was the most eventful. The faculty advisors chosen to lead us were Mr. Thomas Lawson as Chief Advisor with Mr. Steven Tupper, Mr. Herbert Arico, and Mr. Herman Pastore assisting. Our officers were William Voboril, President, Jeannette Constantine, Vice-President, Gwendolyn Tibbits, Secretaryg and Jacqueline Daigneault, Treasurer. Kafherine Usher and Kenneth Etheridge were our Athletic Council representatives. We opened the social season at Windham with the traditional autumn dance. Our informal affair, named Autumn Huey, was held on December 4 with Jeannette Constantine serving as gen- eral chairman. Cut-outs of leaves, acorns, deer, squirrels, and trees appropriately carried out the very mood suggested by the title. Mr. Stephen Tupper was faculty advisor for this dance. The annual winter formal was held in the Case Gym, January 22, with Sleigh Ride as the theme of the dance. A realistic gray horse and red sleigh served as the center decoration piece, and similar three-dimensional winter scenes around the walls of the gym provided a frosty setting. hir.. Thomas Lawson served as general advisor for the dance, and Mr. Jack Allen acted as decoration a visor. The Senior Class Fund Raising Committee sponsored a girl-ask-boy informal party in the Case Gym, March 5. The decorations for the Sock Hop included a crepe paper carousel in the center of the gym and cut-out socks on the walls. Chairman Marilyn Glazier supervised the dance, and Mr. Herbert Arico served as faculty advisor. Swami William Voboril conducted underclassmen and faculty members on a tour of '55 in '75 , June 15, in the Case Gym, as we presented our Class Day program. Mr. Timothy Quinn served as faculty director of the performance assisted by Mr. Herman Pastore, Mr. Stephen Tupper, Mr. Thomas Lawson, and Mr. Herbert Arico. At the end of the two performances we felt that not only had we presented a show to be proud of, but also one that we had had fun doing. Our senior reception Fantasia was held June 17, in Case Gymnasium, with dancing from 8:30 to 12:30. The gym presented a picture of imagination, with a column in the center of the floor, topped by a star, a skyline across the stage, mobiles, streamers, and birch boughs creating a make-believe atmosphere. As we danced to the music of Tommy Pavone's orchestra, we realized that this evening would not be soon forgotten, Much of the success of the affair was due to co-chairmen Barbara Abood and Peter Ermacora and Mr. Herman Pastore, faculty advisor. Kenneth Etheridge was chairman for our Class Outing and Banquet, which took place at Ocean Beach on June 20. After spending all day on the beach and enjoying the various amuse- ments of the park, our appetites certainly were prepared for the delicious banquet in the Recreation Hall. As the seven bus loads of seniors were homeward bound, we realized that we had added another link to our long chain of eventful memories to be remembered in future years. Our four years at Windham came to a close with our Commencement on June 22. Mr. George A. Baker, Jr., Assistant to the President, American Screw Company, was our graduation speakerg and Mr. Donald A. Kramer, chairman of the Board of Education, presented our diplomas to us. Mrs. Cecelia Mahoney served as advisor for the graduation exercises with assistance from Miss Edna J. Weathern and Vice-Principal Laurence A. King. As we walked out of the building for the First time as alumni of the school, we felt a spirit of satisfactionuand accomplishment. Yes, we had memories of four years of fun, work, and excitement behind us, but we have a lifetime of learning and advancement ahead of us.
