During that time he's been a 5th grade teacher, cross-country ski coach and flag corps organizer. No student in the last 28 years will for- get Mr. Davis or his 5th grade trip to Sherburne. We thank him for being our teacher, advisor and friend. We wish him luck and many snowy win- ters for White Birches. LEONARD VINING Mr.Vining has been head custo- dian at WAJ for 22 years. Through- out those years he has built tables, repaired windows, insulated walls, polished floors, plowed walks and done a thousand other things to keep WAJ running like a top. After every vacation you could always count on coming back to school and finding everything looking like new, because Mr.Vining always treated everything as if it were his own. We thank him for all he's done and for always being there when we needed him. We wish him good luck in his retirement and no more hassles. AM Ever close in Mind and heart No further away than a picture. A smile or remembered phrase, our loved ones live in memory - so close in so many ways. For how often does a sunset bring nostalgic thoughts to mind of moments that our loved ones shared in days now left behind! How often has a flower or a crystal autumn sky brought golden recollections of happy days gone by! Yes, memory has a magic way of keeping loved ones near - ever close in mind and heart are the ones we hold most dear. Marjorie Frances Ames CHRISTOPHER DR M News Y TTH 5. --fwfr b . What else do you need to have a ball? ,ff 30 THANKS AND GOOD-BYE WE'LL MISS YOU BUT WE WON'T FORGET YOU. A few years ago we dedicated our yearbook to joe Duncan, our long-time friend and photographer from Ramark-Varden. Boy, are we glad we did! Unfortunately, had we waited, joe wouldn't have been around to see it. joe took pictures at WAI for fif- teen years and always made a spe- cial point to come to Windham, even though we're a small school. We wonder if our yearbooks will ever be as good as they were without loe's pictures. joe also al- ways had encouraging words and helpful hints for our budding, young photographers. But we won't miss only joe the photog- rapher, we'll also miss joe the per- son who always had a smile and warm hello for all of us. Q W '74, Y 9115 , D 4.7 UH Aff t.: Nicholas fi fa ,, if ' 351' ? Traveling all the way to Eagle River, Wisconsin to participate, Corey, driving his Ski Doo Formula MX, competed against many others to triumph finally and become the junior World Champion. A world champion from WAI - it's almost unbelievable. But lots of hard work on the part of Corey and his par- ents made it happen. CONGRATULATIONS, COREY! EVA KA RAZIM It isn't often that a school the size of Wind- ham produces a state champion. WAI was very fortunate this year to have Eva Karazim win the girls slalom at the Empire State Games in Lake Placid on February 28. Eva beat a field of 80 racers including some of the best female racers in New York state. Her vic- tory was all the more special because she won so convincingly - by two seconds! Francoise, are we hav- ing French today? Francoise, come teach our class when Mrs. Dearing is absent. All year long you could hear the above questions in the hall. Francoise was a real asset to our school - she was on the ski team and the tennis teamg she taught Mrs. Dearing's French classes on occasiong and she taught French to Mrs. Brignoli's first grade. You could al- ways count on Francoise for a smile and a laugh. We're sorry for misspelling her name so many times - no, we don't think she's a boy! We'll miss her, but some of us hope to see her next year - en France! MERCI POUR TOUT, FRANKIE! BON BOYAGE ET BONNE CHANCE! While Francoise was on her way to America, Debbie Lasoff was on her way to Mexico. If anyone thinks it's easy to leave Windham and go to a foreign country to live for a year, just ask Debbie, when she comes back. We missed having Debbie at WAI for our senior year and we're sure it was hard for her to miss it, too, but WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! We're all looking forward to having Debbie back and to hearing all about her adventures. 49 sf' ' WkQW,Q WMM ...C g 1 1 Q ,ww--.,z-5 K The Chinese New Year Cele- bration was coor- dinated by Mrs. Rapp, Mrs. as fiwa Tumesella, and Mrs. Mattice.
