ALAN JOHNSON, now prominent surgeon is being featured with his tru pet, ln Stan Kenton's band Of course you've all heard of General KJELL OLSEN'S conquest of Moscow VINNIE NEWLAND First Baseman for the Dodgers now has the lar gest of fan clubs in America. BILL CONKLIN, professional basketball player, is now on tour, playing center for the Knicks. SHIRLEY HOYT is now living in Hollywood while under contract with M G M MARY ELLEN HAYDEN, now a registered nurse, has married the head doctor of St Mary's Hospital JOHANNA BRENDECKE our second nurse has become the Superintend ent of Nurses in one of our leading Hospitals in New York GERRY ALBERTI is now planning the opening of her beauty Salon on Sth Avenue, in New York. We enjoyed several parties during the year. The more serious aspect was found in map reading in Geography, European and Asiatic History, and the struggle to become a member of the decimal group in Arithmetic. Nevertheless, we are well rewarded in as muchas we graduate -K-J 'UA- We have hadavery pleasant year in Room 11. Our class began with 15 boys and 12 girls During the year one boy and two girls moved away We were glad to add Larry Dnmham to our group He had been attending school in French Morocco Miss Horse has made the days fly by W 1 Under the guidance ot' Mr. Hcltillop, we have set up a pattern of learning and doing that will help us to work with confidence toward mastery ot' our various subjects. K,- 4 O . , O 0 We have eleven girls and thirteen boys in our class this year We are glad to welcome Warren Dunham He has come from French Morocco We are striving to do our very best We are also trying to be good sports on the play ground and in our work Mrs Fiero is our teacher We are a rather small group, just seventeen of us Although our room was quite small, we enjoyed working and playing under the watchful care of Miss Brockett Guided by Miss Dunham, Eighteen girls and fifteen boys. '1'hat's the second grade. with work, fun, and good friends, Rapid strides wdve made. Under the leadershipof Mrs.Maxwell, we made pictures and danced to action songs besides our usual work. Our Paul Braymsn was awarded the first prize, in Greene County, in his group for the Health Poster he painted It is now on exhibit in Catskill We now have lb, boys and 9 girls sharing our class activities Mrs Pelham is our teacher this year Learning to read and write is our goal We miss the 9 members of the class,some of whom have moved away permanently and others only for the winter. DAR During fire prevention week the kindergarten visited the fire houses Hearing records and reading stories helped them to realize the danger of fires They developed a sense of rhythm by folk dancing, and physical development by tumbling on the mats in the gym Miss Schuman and Mrs Gifford made our first year in school a pleasant one O O ,- n 1 ' . , -.f .
