The Dragons were all set to journey to Noblesville to meet the Tigers from Fishers. The Dragons sent the Tigers home without their stripes. Final score: 81 - 64 in favor of Windfall. Francis and Burkhardt were again high point men. December 7 the St. Mary's Gaels of Anderson invaded the Dragons' Den in a hard-fought battle for the Gaels. The Dragons took advantage of their opposition and sent them home on the short end of an 87-55 score. Burkhardt and Jones added Z2 and 21 points respectively. For their sixth win of the season the Dragons encountered the Prairie Aces. Without much trouble the Dragons tromped the Aces 53-52. 5.5 fi 4 if High point man was Burkhardt. Mr. Drake then readied his Dra- gons for his former Western Pan- thers , who came to Windfall as lively as ever. The Dragons soon tamed them down with a 62 - 53 score. Burkhardt and Jones with Z3 and 2.1 points led the scoring. During the Christmas holidays the Dragons traveled to Anderson to play in a four way tourney invol- ving St. Mary's, Frankton, Knights- town, and Windfall. For their first game the Dragons downed the St. Mary'sGaels 61-56. The next night the Dragons clipped the Frankton Eagles' wings to win the champion- ship game 63-40. High point men in the tournament were Burkhardt, Jones, and Francis.

74104494 Me Seaman 70654 Me D November means basketball to the more than 700 high school teams in Indiana. Windfallis no exception. On Wednesday, November 2, the Windfall Dragons traveled to Walnut Grove for their first game of the season. Being a little nervous, the Dragons made many mistakes. When the final score was written, the Wolves were defeated 69 to 48. Scoring honors went to Jones for a total of 22 points, Burkhardt 20, and Francis 16. On Friday, November 4, the Dra- gons were hosts to Easterrfs Comets. This was Homecoming for Windfall High School. The gym was crowded with loyal fans from both schools. The parade had been a successg the queen was to be crownedg everyone was tense with anticipation. The game was on. Windfall Dragons were out played by the Comets and met defeat. Final score: 72 to 65. Scoring honors went to Francis with 20 points and Burkhardt with 16. For their third game of the season the Dragons met Jefferson Town- ship. The Dragons were ahead most of the way. Then with only seven seconds to go Jefferson Township stole the ball for a layup, edging the Dragons 64 to 63. Francis was high point man for the Dragons with a total of 20 points. Next in line came the Qtraditional must win , game of the year. The opponents were the Sharpsville Bull- dogs. Final score: 82 for Windfall and 74for Sharpsville. Francis and Burkhardt were responsible for 62 points. W ii

Saturday, January 7, found the Dragons traveling to Noblesville to battle with the Carmel Greyhounds. The Dragons met with little diffi- culty and led the Greyhounds all the way. Final score: 74-51, with Charlie Jones tossing in 33 points. January 14 was County Tourna- ment time, and Windfall was one of four teams journeying to Tipton for the meet. Their first opponents were the Prairie Aces. The Aces were easily dumped to the tune of 82-54. For the last game of the meet the Dragons came face to face with the Jefferson Yankees. The Yankees had been one of two teams that had beaten the Dragons during the season, they succeeded in dumping the Dragons asecond time. The final score was 4 7-50. High point men for the tourney were Burkhardt, Jones, and Francis. Anderson Highland was the next stop for the Dragons. Coach Drake' s boys rolled an easy victory, scoring 77 points while the Highlanders tossed in 42. points. Jones led the scoring with Z5 points, while Francis and Burkhardt each contributed 20 points. On February 3, Jackson Central played host to the Dragons at the Noblesville Armory. This was the game of the season, a real thriller all the way. With only 50 seconds to go Windfall trailed by three points. Burkhardt hit a jump shot, followed by a tie-up between Jones and Mel- ling of Jackson Central. The Dra- gons called time out. Coach Drake must have given some good advice. The boys set up a tip off play that worked, giving Francis a lay up. Burkhardt stole the ball and passed to Jones for a final bucket. Burk- hardt and Jones each scored 16 points and Francis tossed in 14. Back home again to meet the Eagles from Frankton. The plays were laid up for Jones and Francis who scoredatotal of 55 points. The Dragons came out on top 79-73. The Frankton game was followed by a sock hop sponsored by the Sunshine Girls.
