They started out with a win over their old rival, Sharpsville then they dropped a close one to Prairie. They wound up the season with a win over Jefferson Twp. which gave them a tie for first place in the county. 36 DICK CUNNINC DAVID YUNDT Co-Captain Co-Captain Junior .lunior Guard - Forward Gnard ROBERT GRAY Coach 37 Robert Gray came from Valparaiso, graduated from Ball State in 'fl-8. Before college Mr. Cray spent thirty-two months in the Army Air Force Pilot Division. Mr. Gray is head of the physical education, shop, boys' health .and safety, and basketball teams. With only two Seniors on the team, lack of experience, for which there is no remedy, was the chief factor. Nonetheless, against opposition which featured no less than seven ,48-'49 sectional finalists, the small Dragons managed their share of games on the right side of the ledger. Two Seniors, seven Juniors, and one Sophomore comprised the first ten. Of these ten, eight will return next year, which fact should prove encouraging to Windfall fans, and, incidentally, troublesome to next yearis opponents. 40 SECOND TEAM The Little Dragons of '49-'50 have proved themselves capable of rising to great heights this year. Although our Seconds lost a few more than they won, the hoys played their hest hall against the toughest opposition, which indicates a strong competitive spirit that will cause future opposition many headaches. 41 of f Q -J CHEERING SECTION This year the cheering section was led by Carrol Mccorlcle and Warren Hanley. lfveryone in school is very proud of our ball team, and have shown it by he-ing present at games both away and at home. Pep sessions were held the last fifteen minutes of the seventh period before each home game. Mrs. Tolle has helped in teaching new yells to the yell leaders, who in turn have taught them to the yelling section. 42 A Mm- 'B BM?-. Warren R. Y if ,Q 55N no 1:2 SNADS 5. . v-' in David Max H.
