SUNSHINE SOCIETY The girls of Windfall High School organized the Sunshine Society this year with the following officers: Sponsor, Mrs. Barr: president Lois Jean Crousoreg Vice President, Ruth Scudderg secre- tary, Bonnie Smithg recording secretary, Helen Jean Brewer, treasurer, Marilyn Curless. This year we have had market to help us to raise money for our society. BREEZE This year Mrs. Mart undertook to organize a journalism class, and believe it or not, it really proved to be very profitable. In the beginning the students acquainted themselves with the rules and types of articles of journalism, later proving very helpful in story writing. The class decided to have a high-school paper, and a contest was held to name it. The tinal count gave it the name Breeze which brought back memories of the by-gone days of the last school paper having the same name. The staff consisted of editor-in-chief, Marilyn Curlessg associate editor, Bill Combs, feature editors, Betty Richardson, Bob Cyphers, Helen Toddg sports editor, james Wlalshg art editor, Clora Graham, class editor, Norvene Cover- dalcg grade editor, Thehna Mock, typists, Lois Crousore, Ruth Todd, business managers, jack Beach, Robert Tcrwilliger, circulation managers, Dale Armstrong, Robert johnson. It was decided to edit the paper on Thursday every two weeks, having special issues for holidays. At the start of the second semester, several new students enrolled in the elas, thus adding some new names to the staff. These included: assistant editor, Marilyn Bergerg business manager, Ruth Scuddcr, jack Beach: circulation managers, Robert Johnson, Norvene Cover- dalcg sports editors, Dale Armstrong, Robert Cyphersg feature editors, Betty Richardson, Helen Todd, Robert Tcrwilligerg office Manager, Thelma Mock. The class continued the paper thc second semester, and also sponsored a movie for the purpose of raising funds for future journalism classes. Our only hope is that in the future there will always be a journalism class in Windfall High! tPieture on Opposite Pagej 40
