STYLUS '76 Windber Area High School Windber, Pennsylvania 15963 ' Volume 74 The Spirit of ,76', We all have heard so much about it in books and newspapers, and on television and radio. Just what is this spirit and what did it do? This spirit produced a crucible - the great Melting Pot - that fused world immigrants into the greatest Republic of Man. Whether these immigrants came for political or religious reasons, they endorsed, preserved, and strengthened the idea of hard work which provided the economic security missing in their home country. This resulted in the mosaic which is America. Thus, our greatest strength as a nation lies in the fact that we have a diversity of opinion and a diversity of people. We can absorb and use ideas of all kinds provided we keep ourselves in a situation where every idea can have public expression. The 1976 Stylus Staff would like to show a mere speck of this American Dream through the camera's eye, stafferis pen, and artist's hand. The Spirit of '76 has been both an inspiration and a blessing to us.
