.Q ,Stand fun Lubn While in high school, a person has a iob to do: his iob is to get as much as he can out of his school experience, and to turn in creditable performance-to make a good record. Your school record is of great importance. Discriminating employers seek students who have attained the better scholastic records. ln general, the better your record, the better the chance of success. Certain traits re- vealed in your record will be useful in the business world. Work done outside of class is an indication of ambition, willingness to work, and ability to get along with others. Your attitude is vitally important. A good attitude can over- come many weaknesses and it is particularly true that a reasonable attitude on the part of young people is highly desirable. Your atti- tude can, in a great many ways, be the gateway to knowledge and understanding. If you have average intelligence, accept a iob eagerly and willingly, devote yourself to it loyally, and each day try to learn something new, you will make progress. There is very Cb Alb? ERNEST B. You have made a record and will continue to add to that record. May it be a good one. This great group is now scattered practically over the entire world. They are found in many occupations and professions. What they are doing and the re- nowned success of a great number of them has helped to build the record of what a course of training in our high school is really worth. Our high school is frequently measured by what our gradu- ates are doing, and how well they succeed after leaving high school. We have recently recognized in a public way the achievements of one of our graduates, Frank Kush, an All-American football player at Michigan State College who has also won scholastic distinction. Many others are frequently recognized for their suc- cess in various lines of endeavor. We trust that from your class many of you shall so devote themselves to some well-chosen line of work that you too shall be worthy of acclaim and excel the record of those who have gradu- ated before you.
