Dedimficfn During our past years at Winchester Thurston we have not always been aware of the influences of individuals upon the development of our integrity and desire for knowledge. But there are two people whose guidance we shall always remember. We met Mrs. Houston in Lower School. Even with her many obligations and responsibilities, she never failed to be a friend to the students. The click of her heels as she came from her office to study hall, the openness with which she received any stu- dent's problems and the patience with which she taught the grown upv seventh graders, we shall never forget. But even more there will remain the memory of every day's end: looking up into her face as she shook our hands and wished us a good-bye. When we entered Upper School, we at once felt the direction of Mrs. Hutson. Her frank wit and keen perception led us to a deeper understanding of ourselves. The enthusiasm with which she taught her classes developed within us a love of knowing. Despite the number of seniors, she has shown a sincere interest in each girl's future and has offered valuable advice to guide us. It is with pride that we rise to her every morning. With fond respect and admiration we dedicate the 1964 This- tledown to Rachel McCormick Houston and Hazel Cole Hutson. L.A.D. A.K.W.
