Winchester has given her best to us, and equipped us well to deal with life. We have acquired more than factual knowledge, we have acquired knowledge of life. We may forget that memini takes the genitive, but we will never forget the thorough and scholarly way Miss Johnston has taught us to approach our problems. We may forget that partir is conjugated with Metre, but we will never forget how Madame has taught us to look for the beauty in life. We may forget who wrote Defense of Poesie, but we will never forget the respect for the great minds and sincere hearts that Miss Philput has taught us. We may forget many dates in History and many terms in Biology, but we will leave Dr. Woodburyys classes truly loving the ideals of our country, and we will leave Miss Burkhouse's laboratory feeling humble and awestruck before the order of the universe. Yes, we will forget much, but we will remember the great things, the things that will guide us in the business of living, and help us to guide others. Whether we become business and professional women or mothers, we will find opportunities to share the knowledge, integrity, sincerity. and courage Winchester has taught us. There will be many people. whether our friends, associates, or families, whom only we can reach. and only we can influence. It is our responsibility to use and share the mental and spiritual richness we have gained here. Winchester has brought out the best in us, may we, too. bring out the best in those we meet. The year has gone by so quickly that we are left a little breathlessg we have hardly had time to realize that at last we're Seniors. We have thought excitedly of the future with its many new experiences, yet we also face it with a sense of nostalgia, for we realize we shall not be together many times again. Butwe know that little things will keep coming back to us and will always associate themselves with our W. T. days. For it is here that we have spent the happiest years of our lives. More important than the knowledge we have gained or the lasting friendships we have made, is the sense of responsi- bility, loyalty and honor we have acquired. As we look back on the last few years, we cannot help but smile: The dances: Hallowe'en partiesg Christmas Sings and Sports Events,-The ever-familiar Who can I take to the Prom? and Are you driving to the Slumber Party on Friday night? How defiantly we said, We will NOT wear brown oxfords -but we learned! And those dark Monday mornings when we hadn't quite finished our homework and thought the bell would never ringg or the restless Friday after- noons when we just c0uldn't concentrate, no matter how hard we triedg the antics and whispers in Senior Study Hall with Mrs. Loughridge constantly plead- ing, The Seniors are supposed to be setting an example! Through the year we learned what that example meant, and we learned the full meaning of our responsibility to ourselves and to our school. We don't feel that we're really leaving Winchester, for, although we shall walk out of the pillared portals , we know that its spirit will remain forever alive within us. Its experiences will be our most cherished memories, and its ideals will guide us through the many years ahead. , M McC , 'Fixx ' P 54 -........,-. mv N-anew.: .aan5'Lw-lf' Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Dr. and Mrs. Compliments Mr. and Mrs Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. PA TR ONS G.
