Everything was new and different. We learned that lockers were bad: if you had a top one you couldn't get to it for the people who had bottom lockers, and if you had a bottom locker you always got hit in the head by the top one and got books dropped on you. We elected Kevin Greenwood president, Connie Evans vice-president, Mike Jefferson secretary, and Brad Jefferson treasurer. We broke Pittsfield's 63-game winning streak in football, 12-6. Remember the celebration all over town? The senior guys tore down the 63 from Pittsfield's sign, and it has been in our trophy case ever since. Remember the hypnotist, and how he made people think they had lost their belly-buttons? Our sophomore year started with a small bang — Blast Em was the theme of our float, which had a cannon on it — but it looked as though it had been through a shrinking machine. We elected Tom Cody president, Jeff Myers vice president, Callie Sellars secretary, and Phyllis Mumford treasurer. We discovered new carpeting in the study hall, which meant that the pennies wouldn't make that nice noise as we rolled them down the aisles. Lockers were still a problem — the boys always stacked the girls' lockers and you never knew what would fall out. We learned something about nature when the speech class put on a play that had seven people holding little green paper leaves in both hands and wearing signs that said Tree. In our junior year we elected Randy ( Buzz ) Lawson president, Bruce Vortman vice-president, Karla Riggs secretary, and Tim Hawkins treasurer. Our float was better, but somebody painted a big '77 on the side of the building so we got in trouble and couldn't use the building any more. What to do with pennies in the study hall became more of a problem when Amos put screens over the lights. The band went to Nashville and saw Dolly Parton, the FFA held an all-night pork roast, and a number of us learned some things about life at a Valentine's Day party at a certain country house. We improved on the tradition of the May water-balloon fights when one of our more inspired members brought a horse trough to school in his truck and filled it with water. There was not a pair of dry jeans in the school that day. Our theme for the prom was Searching for a Rainbow, and the band was Mesa. In the fall of 1976 we headed into our last and best year at Win-Co-Hi. We re-elected Buzz Lawson president, and elected Phyllis Mumford vice-president, Callie Sellars secretary, and Gene Shafer treasurer. Our Homecoming float, Pooh on the Rockets, won first, of course. We learned about music when Buzz led the boys' P. E. class caroling through the halls. Remember when we WON THE WINCHESTER TOURNAMENT, and when — during regionals--the seniors sparked up some school spirit? Remember when the Retail Merchandising class went to St. Louis to visit G. M. C. and a shopping center — and spent the return trip throwing underwear around the bus? Remember Andy Kaughmann in the talent show during Purple and Gold Week, and the First Annual Brown Bag Day? The theme for our prom was Such a Fine Memory, and we do have fine memories of four good years. 8 I 15 Kevin Baird David Bettis ■Rebecca Anders Tammy Sue Basham George Brown 16 Mike Bates Vickie Brown 1 Clint Buckley Karla Davis Jeff Duncan 17 Rosie Coats Jeff Davis Julie Eddinger Tom Cody Robert Capps Debbie Daniels Lou Elliot Jo Evans Connie Evans Sandra Evans Mary Ann Feameyhough Tammy Fisher Tina Ford Kevin Garrett Kevin Greenwood Kevin Gregory Mitch Hainsfurther Jeff Hammon Jeffrey Haney Denise Harding Gail Hawkins Tim Hawkins 19 Christine Hepworth Brenda King Brad Krueger Terry Lashmett Jayne Mason Randy Lawson Twila McGlasson 21 Tamba Mclntire Charles Jay Marshall Susan McLaughlin Gladys McNeece Michelle McNeece Alice Mitchell Kathy Moore Eric Mostajo Phyllis Mumford Jeff Myers 22 Steve Nicholson Kim Orebaugh Chris Poe Don Quigg Paul Raabe Mary Ann Ragan Douglas Ranson Tracey Dickson Reed Reverly Roberts 23 John Sauer Colleen Savage Susan Stinebaker 24 Cathy Suttles Callie Sellars Charles Buck Spears Fred Savage Gene Shafer Randall Scott Pamela Six Tom Wade Peggy Welsh Becky Williams You never really leave a place you love Part of it you take with you ...
