Bob Bruns was elected president, Jim Kirkpatrick, vice-president; and Sandy Sitton secretary-treasurer. Our sophomore year, our officers were: Jim Kirkpatrick president; Paul Mc-Glasson, vice-president; and Scott Stuart secretary-treasurer. We began our junior year with a successful magazine sale. Our president was Darrell Collard; Bruce Dahman, vice-president; Ann Cody, secretary; and Beverly Little, treasurer. On May 4, 1972, the Junior-Senior banquet was held at the Blackhawk Restaurant. The prom was held the following Saturday evening, May 6. Our theme was Imagine , with music by the Springfield Mountain. In the fall of 1972, 74 seniors returned to Win-Co-Hi for their final year of high school. Our officers were: Dan Brown, president; Donald Gourley, vice-president; Virginia Sparrow, secretary; and Diane Hatcher, treasurer. The year was a busy one with senior activities including homecoming, work on the yearbook, and plans for the future. They ended the season with a great come-from-behind victory over Calhoun to capture Second Place in the I VC. The Wildcats scored more points (169) than any other Wildcat team since at least 1963, while holding the opponents to only 97 points. By winning six of their last seven games, including big victories over North Greene, Pleasant Hill, and the Homecoming win of Mendon, the Fighting Wildcats provided a very exciting season for the fans. Darrell Collard was the team leader in tackles along with winning the Darrell Spang award for outstanding leadership, spirit, and courage. Dave Mumford was voted the most improved football player by the team. Seven Wildcats received all-conference honors while six others were given Honorable Mention. Co-Captains elected for next year are Bob Buhlig and Brian McKinney. The Frosh-Soph won the conference and ended the season with a 5-2-1 record while the Freshman Squad had a fine 6-1-1 record. SECOND ROW: Coach Taylor, Mike Nicholson, Mike Davis, George Lindsey, Mark Cooper, Rodney Nicholson, Don Hankins, Jim Lockman, Brian McKinney, Paul Schmitt, Asst, coach; Jim Jenkins, Asst. Coach. The Wildcats ended with a 16-4 season record. This made the team's fifth winning season. Rodney Nicholson was top hitter, top pitcher, and voted Most Valuable Player. We won our own tournament, and placed 2nd in District competition. Track — Spring 1972 The 1972 track season was another successful one. We won two big Invitationals: Carthage and Pay-son. Mark Stice was voted the Most Valuable Player. Dennis Campbell was the most improved and a new award given to the boy who worked the hardest all year long went to Mike McEvers. The captains for next year's team will be Dave Mumford and Russell Weder.
