CLASS OFFICERS: Elaine Wells, Secretary; Jim Scott, Vice Pres.; Jane Pate, President. JANE PATE President 2,3,4; Annual Editor; Student Council 2-4; Dramatics 2-3; Girls' State 3; Librarian 2.3; G.A. A. 1-4; F.T.A. 2,3. Se Uvt Four years ago eighty-five freshmen took their first step on the stairway to a high school diploma. They selected as their class officers Paul Garrison, president; Jim Scott, Vice president; and Linda Havens, secretary. After the initiation by the juniors, the freshmen became full-fledged members of Win-Co-Hi. The next step up the stairway was taken with more confidence. This year Jane Pate, president; Ed Dolen, vice president; Tom Lashmett, secretary; and Jack Riggs, treasurer were the class officers. Mr. Rueb and Mrs. Renfro, as advisers, helped them prepare the People to People act for the Fun and Frolic benefit. The third step proved to be the busiest one for the class. The officers Jane Pate, Bill Robinson, Kay Palmer, and Jack Riggs as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer respectively were guided by their advisers Mr. Rueb, Mrs. Coultas, and Mrs. Willsey. Kay Palmer was crowned 1959 Homecoming Queen. The junior play, A Date With Judy was a success, and the prom with the theme Stairway to the Stars was the high light of the year. The final climb up the star way was a continuous rush. Elaine Wells was chosen the 1960 Homecoming Queen. Class officers were Jane Pate, president; Jim Scott, vice president; and Elaine Wells, secretary. The class advisers Mr. Rueb, Mrs. Willsey, and Mrs. Glossip helped the seniors plan for the closing activities of the school year. Baccalaureate and Commencement came all too soon. The 1961 class had reached the first landing at Win-Co-Hi on the long stairway to a better education.
