VLdw amt JPultl As a theme for the annual, the senior class of 1950 chose the idea “Now and Then” which shows the progress made by the school in the last twenty-five years. In carrying out this theme the staff has included baby pictures of a few of the faculty and students. The consolidation of the schools has brought us many new opportunities for participation in athletics, band, dramatics, and various club activities pupils could not have had years ago. Today pupils ride on a warm bus to school rather than furnishing their own transportation or walking on dirt roads. In the evening busses take us to games, parties, and plays at the school. Students may eat a hot meal at noon with plenty of milk and fruit instead of carrying a cold lunch in a sack. Students may choose subjects which will train them for their future occupations as: agriculture, home economics, and commercial courses. We are indeed grateful for these many opportunities we have had. Two of the editors attended a conference at the University of Illinois in October for yearbook advisers and staff members. We have tried to incorporate some of the ideas gained at this conference in “The Wildcat” to make it attractive and interesting by varying the location of pictures and including more snapshots. We hope the annual will be a high school souvenir that we shall always cherish and enjoy. THE EDITORS. FIVE
