Lbeckcafion .M KWH! To Mrs. Margaret Osborne, we the stud- ents of Winchester High School, proudly ded- icate this 1953-54 annual. Mrs. Osborne has been the first and second grade teacher here at Winchester for the past eleven years. She has given the maj- ority of High School Students their start to- wards an education. SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE Under the democratic way of life, all individuals are assumed to be of equal worth so far as their concerned. One of the major responsibilities of the school, therefore, is to provide a type of development in harmony with the needs of each individual who attends school. The extent to which the school fails in this fund- amental responsibility is the extent to which it fails in the respon- sibility our democratic society has assigned to it. Therefore, the schools will be least susceptible to unrestrained exploitation by any individual or group individuals capable of efficiently directing their own lives within the broad limits of the general welfare. 4
