H. S. to begin their second year of high school. Since our Freshman year we have gained three new members, Jeannie Hodnett and Doug Peterson, both from Lewiston. Roy Benson from Kansas. Our first class meeting was held September 14. The purpose was to discuss the Freshman Initiation. We dressed them as Dog- patch Characters and everyone had a lot of fun. York The Junior Class started this year with ten members. In the winter we put on our class play called Mountain Gal, under the direction of our class advisor, Mr. York, which proved quite a success. We've all been active in sports with class members taking part in basketball and baseball. Our candidate for Queen, Mar- lene Kelso, was crowned Queen of the 1953-54 Carnival. As next year's seniors we look forward to another happy year at W. H. S. I2

During the first semester Jerry Rupe moved to Culdesac leav- ing us seventeen Freshmen. Our initiation, which was called Dog Patch , brought many laughs from the upper classmen. After the initiation, refreshments were served and a dance was given by the Sophmores. The Freshmen cleaned up afterwards. Wanda I-lartwig was our candidate for Carnival Queen. 14
