During the whole evening, Richard Burke, the Vice-President of the Junior class, introduced each act with a flare. With a different twist Paige Elwell, Lynn Braga, Alyssa Parker, and Jean Cullen did a lip synch of Good Love, the popular 50 ' s song. Jay Barbuto (alias Corey Hart) delivered his rendition of Sunglasses at Night. For a week colorful posters were up advertising the Junior Class Lype Synch on November 22, at 7:30 in the audito¬ rium. Over five hundred people at¬ tended and one thousand dollars was raised for the junior class. Everyone had a great time watching students of the school performing the songs of rock stars, or lampooning the acts of the stars. Alone on the stage in Bermuda shorts, Scott Olivieri was Wham!, and Ivan Calaff, Eddie Pigott, Debbie Brown, and Terry Clements won third place with the Apollo Medley. Performing “Sun City was a group of twenty-five students dressed as Pat Benetar, Little Steven, Run DMC, and other famous singers. Lead by Kathy McGillicuddy as Sandy and Chris Puffer as Danny, the sophomore class presented Summer Loving from the movie Grease. The winners were Lou Frate as Mick Jagger and Scott Racek as David Bowie giving an excellent imitation of the music video Dancin ' in the Streets . The Lype Synch brought out many hidden tal¬ ents, and everyone had a wonderful time cheering friends on. 25

T Our fourth and most successful Mu¬ sic Fest was held in January of ' 86. Sever¬ al improvements in our running of the Fest improved the quality of our pro¬ gram immeasurably. The first was the hiring of a professional sound man to mike all of the vocals and provide a high quality P.A. system. Another strength of the program was the depth and variety of our talent. Bands such as The Blues Connection featured a jazz rock syn¬ thesis while bands such as De Sade of¬ fered a more standard rock sound. We also invited two Music Fest alumni groups, Armageddon and The Solution, to bolster an already impressive array of talent. Small act high points were pro¬ vided by singer Sarah Parker, the duet of Rachel Cooper and Ana Perez, saxa- phone player Bob Driscoll, and several classical musicians who balanced out the program nicely. All musicians played to a receptive audience that re¬ quired very little, if any, chaperoning. The overall success of the program left all performers and co-ordinators feel¬ ing rewarded and anxious to produce Music Fest ' 87. David Sobkowitz entertained the audience with his highly original music. Bob Driscoll and Jason Boone got really hot on their saxaphones with some cool blues. Deb Daugherty impressed music lovers with her great talent for the viola. 26 Music Fest
