S HM What was it? 29-8-41 ... no, no, no ... Or maybe 1-28-49 . .. or . .. 48-9- 21? Well, We ' ve got 10 minutes before class... so maybe I ' ll get it open by then ... Quickly the 10 minutes pass and teachers lead freshmen, so bewildered, back to homeroom. Several of them are still in awe of the welcoming speeches from principal, Vincent Larocco, and Student Union president, Lulu Ker- mond, wonder if they will ever be able to find a way through the labyrinth of W.H.S. halls. With the voluntary aid of upperclassmen, who gave an extensive 40 minute tour of the school, the path becomes clearer. The questions of many confused freshmen are met with warm answers from seniors and home¬ room teachers. After experiencing their first lunch in the cafeteria, the freshmen trek to classes where they are greeted by teachers who enthusiastically pre¬ sent the courses. As the final bell rings, the freshmen breathe sighs of relief as they stumble out of W.H.S. During homeroom William Gordon and Eddie Hackett copy their schedules, preparing for their first year at the high school. Mr. Watson shows freshman Chris Cooper the key to W.H.S. lockers. In homeroom, Mrs. Cullivan answers freshmen ' s questions about schedules.
