B€ WITCHED! Bright lights, orange and black decora¬ tions, and a lot of wacky costumes were the ingredients of this year’s Student Union Halloween Dance. Although the D.J. went to the wrong school, was an hour and a half late, and everyone got an overdose of breakdancing music, the kids had a great time. About five hundred peo¬ ple from all four classes came to thejunior High gym the night of October 27th to listen to the music and dance the night away (at least until 11:30). People were barely recognizable as witches, gools, a bunch of grapes, and even Michael Jack- son trumped into the gym. The lights flashed, the music played, and everyone had a great time. The dance was a huge success for the Student Union, and psyched everyone for the dances to come. The motley crew: Mark Shaw, Tommy Karis, Glenn Dorsom, Billy Newbourn, and the masked man. Greeting students at the door were Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse portrayed by Nelleke Spanjaard, bun¬ ny Ginny Askew, and St. Paulis Girl Cory Barger. Cheerleaders and Tumblettes 21 P€P ND PRIDC Of WHS. Who are those crazy people jumping around in little skirts on chilly afternoons? They’re none other than the WHS Tumb¬ lettes and Cheerleaders. Participation in both of these organizations as in other sports, requires a great amount of time and dedication. This year’s Tumblette squad proved to be as energetic as ever. The many hours spent at afternoon practices and on Satur¬ day mornings enabled the Tumblettes to please the crowds at every half-time per¬ formance. We must not, however, forget to mention the tireless efforts of Coach Pricilla Miller. She supported the squad and helped to bring them to the perfection that was displayed in Atlanta, Georgia at the 1984 Peach Bowl Festivities. The WHS Cheerleaders have constantly provided pep and pride” to the Sachem teams. Their intricate cheers and dance routines never ceased to amaze the crowds. With the support and talent of Miss Sullivan and their own time and dedication, the Fall Cheerleaders were able to bring their act to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Tumblette tri-captains Suzanne Perlitsh, Michelle Se- viginy and Maura Cullen split the task of leading the WHS Tumblettes. Showing their talent, the WHS Cheerleaders enter¬ tain the crowd at a Pep Rally.
