Business Before Pleasure Many of the students at Winchester High are also part-time workers. Some work for the responsibility and the chal¬ lenge, while others work to finance their economic needs. Although the hours are long and tiring, most students find satis¬ faction in having a job. Pilar Von Lazar works ' for the money and because it teaches me to be responsible.” With col¬ lege just around the corner, students’ jobs become more essential than ever. Some students choose to save a portion of their salary for their education, but the majority of the moon-lighters” work merely for pocket money. As the weekend comes to an end, so does the supply of cash earned in the previous week. Having a job in high school may be difficult to manage, but the advantages are many. |Wsf LSI • f-1 s k, ,k.ri :::::: tit ' ll- r A Salvy ' s breadgiris, Lisa Dewar and Jen Tinkler, show off their French bread. B€ WITCHED! Bright lights, orange and black decora¬ tions, and a lot of wacky costumes were the ingredients of this year’s Student Union Halloween Dance. Although the D.J. went to the wrong school, was an hour and a half late, and everyone got an overdose of breakdancing music, the kids had a great time. About five hundred peo¬ ple from all four classes came to thejunior High gym the night of October 27th to listen to the music and dance the night away (at least until 11:30). People were barely recognizable as witches, gools, a bunch of grapes, and even Michael Jack- son trumped into the gym. The lights flashed, the music played, and everyone had a great time. The dance was a huge success for the Student Union, and psyched everyone for the dances to come. The motley crew: Mark Shaw, Tommy Karis, Glenn Dorsom, Billy Newbourn, and the masked man. Greeting students at the door were Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse portrayed by Nelleke Spanjaard, bun¬ ny Ginny Askew, and St. Paulis Girl Cory Barger.
