WHSR-FM, Winchester, is now beginning broadcasting op¬ erations for today ...” Winches¬ ter ' s best (and only) radio station enjoyed a truly outstanding year on 91.9 Mhz. A variety of music — ranging from punk to classical — supplemented our public ser¬ vice coverage of town meetings, football games, and local elec¬ tions. This year ' s officers were: Station Manager Bill Littell, Music Director Rodney Green, Public Service Director Dennis McCar¬ thy, and Educational Director John Reidy Terry Clements. Un¬ der the direction of Advisor David Frary, the station can look for¬ ward to continued success in the future. ' ' WHSR-FM, Winchester, is now concluding broadcasting operations for today ...” RED and BLACK The Red and Black staff of 1983-84 has completed a very successful year, placing second in a high school journalism competi¬ tion. The newspaper divides itself into a series of journalistic cate¬ gories: features, news, arts en¬ tertainment, sports, editorials, layouts, and photography. With the assistance of Advisor Marie Franklin, the Red and Black staff achieved a wide variety of goals. We were also introduced to the world of television when Demetra Tseckares, Editor, and Rob Nigro, Junior Editor, were in¬ vited to guest panel on Channel 7 ' s show, The Young Editors. To the departing senior staff, best of luck and appreciation for the immense effort and dedica¬ tion. To the future staff we leave their pride in a truly outstanding high school newspaper. ' 85 Editors. Photography Although this is only the sec¬ ond year the Photography Club has been in existence, it has been function ing very well. The meet¬ ings are every Monday night. The members are shown how to use their camera. They also learn how to develop film and make displayable prints. They use the facilities of the high school dark¬ room. Under the direction of Ad¬ visor Carlyjane Dunn Watson and President Chris Bentley, many school and town events are cap¬ tured on film. Members are major contributors of photos used in the Yearbook. 14 WHSR-FM, RED and BLACK, and Photography Club
