Success is ... having friends The class of 1982 entered high school with new dreams for the future. For some, these dreams included col¬ lege; for others, a position in a field of their choice. But for all, these dreams included a successful and memorable high school career. At first things were difficult; as soph¬ omores we were overcome by the amount of work expected of us, and we felt unimportant for we were the youn¬ gest class in the school. But as we be¬ gan to grow and mature, we began to enjoy the many new experiences and new freedoms that we encountered, and we learned to cope with our nu¬ merous responsibilities. We realized that we were all in this endeavor to¬ gether and that only by cooperating, by accepting each other and by working as a group could we get through suc¬ cessfully. We shared the good times along with the bad ones: the parties, vacations, and “free” times as well as the exams, homework, and job experiences. We laughed together and cried together . . . and became friends; friends that shared hopes for the present and dreams for the future. We formed a tightly knit group, protective of one an¬ other and ready to take on the world. We were invincible. Top: Smile and say cheese. — E. Conley, K. Kelly, D.
