• • • showing pride in our work By the end of our junior year, all of our experiences, our determination, and our hard work, became evident. Our class, the W.H.S. class of ’82, had begun to reach new heights. More stu¬ dents in our class had qualified as na¬ tional merit candidates than in previous years. Our soccer and tennis teams had won state titles. Overall, our sports teams had placed 4th in our division, the best showing in our school’s history. We had sponsored successful class functions which had helped the stu¬ dents grow closely together. We had come to understand each others’ prob¬ lems, needs, and desires and had be¬ gun to work together to solve these problems as we prepared to enter our final year at W.H.S. Realizing that this would be our last year together, we vowed to make it the best and not to let our responsibilities and problems weigh too heavily on us. We knew it would not be easy, but we realized that we had the potential to be the best class academically, athletical¬ ly, and socially that W.H.S. had ever graduated. As our senior year began, we set out to reach new heights: to be better than those who came before us, both individually and as a class. We began to understand that our dreams were within our reach and that if we retained faith in ourselves we could rise above our limitations and realize these dreams. Top: “It’s sew easy . . .” M.
