Also representing Seniors at Homecoming were Chris Retter and Vivian Williams. Homecoming was early this year, but everyone was ready. Cheerleaders thought of the catchy theme From Funnies to Fables With the Falcons ' The traditional window displays and murals were displayed, and Fun Games took place. Window displays were creative and attractive. The titles ranged from Falcons and Their Superfriends to What's Up Doc? And the murals throughout the school showed class spirit as well as hard work for those participating. The annual Fun Games designed to fire-up faculty, students, and team members was held in the afternoon. Because of rainfall some games were omitted, but students still enjoyed the shoe grab, sack races, balloon toss, and the tug-of-war. As is the custom the Spirit Stick is awarded at the Homecoming game, and this year's winner was the Juniors. 10

In May of 1979, the WC band members and their parents learned that the WC band had been chosen from 400 entries to march in the 53rd annual Macy's parade during Thanksgiving. This trip was designed to get the maximum from New York in a limited amount of time. Within moments after arrival, the entire group was on the subway and off to the Statue of Liberty. The excitement did not stop there. The next few days were filled with visiting the World Trade Center, Chinatown, The New York Experience, Radio City Music Hall, the Broadway hit Annie and many expensive downtown department stores. After completing the trip, Mr. Jones said, It was the best trip we've ever had.
