In May of 1979, the WC band members and their parents learned that the WC band had been chosen from 400 entries to march in the 53rd annual Macy's parade during Thanksgiving. This trip was designed to get the maximum from New York in a limited amount of time. Within moments after arrival, the entire group was on the subway and off to the Statue of Liberty. The excitement did not stop there. The next few days were filled with visiting the World Trade Center, Chinatown, The New York Experience, Radio City Music Hall, the Broadway hit Annie and many expensive downtown department stores. After completing the trip, Mr. Jones said, It was the best trip we've ever had.
