The freshmen gave us a party on January 4th. We had an enjoyable time. Those who participated in A Band were: Ivan Short, Goldie Winchell, and Karon Zuhlke. Those who participated in Chorus were: Leanne Anderson, Shirley Boerst, Karen Creviston, David Dunnum, Rosalia Hemmersbach, Richard Kruse, Sharon O'Gara, Helen Phalin and Alice Wendland. Shirley Boerst and Goldie Winchell were in the Octet. Members of the Health Council were: Janet Liefke and Karon Zuhlke. Sharon O’Gara and Helen Phalin were B Team cheerleaders. David Dunnum and Raymond Saxby were on the A Team basketball squad, Richard Kruse, Peter Kruse, Ivan Short and Rodney Wilde were on the B Team basketball squad. Those who participated in Forensics were: Rich- ard Kruse, James O'Rourke, and William Sinnott. As sophomores we began our year, To learn Algebra was our fear; It wasn’t as puzzling as it did appear And we now look forward to our Junior year. There were eleven girls and twenty-four boys, a total of thirty-five in the first year class. Our class advisor was Mrs. Landgraf. The sophomores held initiation on the 17 th of October. We gave the sophomores a party on January 4th, 1957, in the gym. Those from our class who were in band were: Ruth Ann Fauska and Mary Jane Flock. Those in Chorus were: Mary Jane Flock, Ruth Fauska, Marlene Geier, Betty Ander- son, Timothy O’Rourke, Vern Nauman, Paul Crook, Robert Cox, Lyle Schindler, and Wil- liam Bever. Harlan Englerth and Betty Anderson were on the Health Council. As Freshmen we had our initiation. The high school gym was the location.
