CLASS POEM Continued RUTH STEINKE, without much to say, Goes quietly on her way. She does her work up so fine. And wears a smile all the time. TOM WISEMAN, a talkative guy, Oi a girl in Norwalk keeps his eye. In school he’s Mrs. LandgraPs menace, In making attempts to entertain us. CAROLINE STEINHOFF, so small and busy, To follow her would make you dizzy. When having fun the sky’s the limit. No maner what happens she’s right in it. CHARLES ZELLMER, who loves to dance, On being a sailor he’ll take his chance. He says no girl will make him sing. But what about that F reshman who’s got his ring. JOHN USELMAN, a real good Joe, To Petenwell he likes to go, A yellow convertible is his car. Which carries him near and far. PAT WELCH, who has lots to say. Would like to be very rich some day, In school he has lots of fun. As though he had his work all done. And now the time has come for us. To bid you all good-by. We hope that you will enjoy die years As we have at Wilton High. PROPHECY I just received an invitation to attend die reunion of the Wilton '55 graduating class. It is now five years since many of us have seen or heard of each other. Pm sure that everyone will be there and we will all have an enjoyable time talking over our high school days. I, Joyce Fick, am boarding a train at Milwaukee for Wilton to attend the reunion. I arr. now teaching for the first year as a commercial teacher at Longfellow Central, near Milwaukee. The train seemed to be fairly crowded so I slid into the first empty seat. To my surprise, I was sitting beside Ruth Steinke. She also was on her way to Wilton. She told me that she is employed by Dr. Norbert Sinnott, another classmate, who had his practice set up at Racine. He was going to fly to Wilton the next day. As we rode on, we decided to go to die club room for a little refresher. There we saw Pat Welch as the bartender. He just told us that Merlyn Eckelberg also was on the train and that he had just completed plans for the new Eckelberg Super Train. As we approached Wilton, we immediately saw how much it had grown since we last were there. In the railroad depot we recognized another classmate, Roger Pasch, who had taken over Jerry Neumans place, as the depot agent. He told us that he and Eileen were married and were busy raising little telegraph operators. After a little chat, Roger said that he would call a taxi for us so that we wouldn’t have to walk over to the schooL We were surprised to see Carol Liefke drive up and he is now the owner of Carol’s Careful Cars, the taxi service at Wilton. He added that his cars never smash but just have big bumpers. He has Wilbert Geier as another expert driver helping him. As we drove down the street, we saw Richard Harrison walking down the sidewalk. He had on an army suit. He had followed his brother and went into the service. He would complete his years this fall. He seemed to be quite hapDV as he now had other plans to make or keep. JIM WELCH SERVICE STATION BURNSTADS SUPER MARKET, Tomah. Wis. CENTRAL HARDWARE CO., Tomah, Wis TOMAH JOURNAL, Tomah, Wis.
