THE EAGLE 1935 WVHEATON REED HOPPE A cheerful flow of spirits, an easy temper not readily annoyed. Agriculture Courseg Chorus 2, 3g Glee Club 1, 3, 43 Future Farmer's Club 2, 3, 45 Basketball 1, 4. A tall lank figure. A pleasant understanding grin. Long legs which have to be wound into knots in order to be confined in the small area under a desk. When Wheat Hoppes around the basketball Hoor, things happen fast. His rackety Ford is noted for tearing over the Bean's Corner countryside. LUCILLE LAKE Laughter means sympathyf' Home Economics Courseg Home Economics Club 1, 2, 3, 45 President 45 Chorus 1, 2, 35 Glee Club 35 Junior Production Chorus 3. At first we couldn't understand how Squeal got her nickname, but now We begin to see. Her merry nature is always popping out in little giggles. Her recipe for conduct is equal portions of quietness and vi- vacity, seasoned with interest and courtesy, mixed well, and served generously. NEAL EVANS LAKE He is swift to hear, slow to speak. English Courseg Chorus 1, 2, 35 Class Plays 2, 35 Football 2, 3, 4g Ice Hockey 2, 3, 45 Baseball 2, 3, 45 Eagle Board 4. Dramatic, athletic, and literary abilities are combined in our ver- satile classmate. He is a Hne student of Shakespeare, and shines in athletics as well. In all types of literary achievement he makes his mark. But he is not remote, as these sentences might imply. For a Well-balanced personality, we offer Neal as a good example. THALIA ARLENE LAKE To a young heart everything is fun.', English Courseg Home Economics Club, 1, 2, 3, 45 Chorus, 1, 2, 35 Glee Club, 45 Class Plays 2, 35 Eagle Board. Ka-choo! Joe answers the roll call. A quick witticism, an impish chuckle-the epitome of fun. And yet her sympathy is as ready as her love of pranks. A small person with the mischief of an urchin, and the qualities of a good social mixer. If ever you meet her, you can identify her by her liveliness. 10

Classical Course: Athletie Council 45 Cross Country 15 Football 3, 45 Manager, Ice Hockey 45 Track 35 Eagle Board. Louis is the embodiment of silence. But the twinkle in his eye and his clipped accent show the combination of a keen sense of humor and brisk efliciency that is present in his nature.
