s Sincere congratulations from the junior high faculty and administration on the occasion of achieving an important milestone along your pathways to success. The road thus far, we are sure, was not an easy one to follow for some of you. The temptation to select a less challenging course, and apparently more lucrative at the time, was difficult to resist Nor will you find the road ahead well de- fined and free from distractions and ob- structions. It was Carlyle who said, The block of granite which was an obstacle in the path of the weak becomes a stepping stone in the path of the strong. It is our hope that the guidance and di- rection given by your counselors at times of indecision, the encouragement and in- spiration from the faculty and parents when the going was tough, and your own deter- mination and perseverance to succeed will continue to serve as important guide posts on your life's journey. You will learn early an important lesson in life that success must continually be won and it is never finally achieved. We would like to share with you the fol- lowing bit of anonymous verse: Keep pushing -- 'Tis wiser than sitting aside And dreaming and sighing and wasting the tide. 'ln life's earnest battle, they only prevail Who daily march onward and never say , fail. Sincerely, fff'?Zy7,,,, junior High Faculty Arlan R. Moyer, Principal GUIDES ALONG THE PA TH T 0 WISDOM To the Graduating Class of 1965: In today's world of advancement into space,' wars and rumors of wars, misunderstandings, hatred, racial disorders, juvenile delinquency, seething discontent because of hunger and pov- erty, and the growth of nationalism in the African continent, the youth of America must have the courage and fortitude to select the right path to conquer the inevitable shadows of doubt and fear and so to make this world a better place in which to live. The path to liberty is the path of knowledge. Without knowledge man's mind is enslaved. Therefore, take the path of knowledge to liber- ate your mind. Strive to develop an ardent and sustained devotion to the advancement and dis- semination of knowledge and understanding that you may help your fellowmen. The path to knowledge is through the world of books. Monuments may fall, nations and their civilizations may perish, but in books the freedom and independence of man the world over can be preserved and strengthened. Remember, too, to take the path of rever- ence in your life's work so that you as an individual may help to strengthen the moral climate and fiber of our great nation. Best wishes for success. May God bless you in your life's work. Z4 ff QQQ4 1124 , Aaron R. Miller High School Principal
