Una 'WLM THE CALL BOARD Curtain going up! lt's the review of the year - produced by the Senior Class of Wilson High School. Our show is a summary of our high school days and covers all aspects of the fun and work that went on be- hind the scenes. Wilson was the stage setting for all these memorable events. As we prepare to emerge upon the Premiere of our lives, we remember the immortal words of Shakespeare - All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players . We know that our years here will never be forgotten, and that our l953 Wilsonian will serve forever as a program to remember them by. :.' ffl , , Cl-IOOE ifls G7 11 1112: -. -' fe' THE PLAYBILL Directors 3 - l6 Star Performers I7 - 36 Understudies 45 - 50 Back Stage 5l - 80 Angels 81 - 96 ALMA MATER l. Time and practice soon brought results, for under the care- ful guidance of our directors, we came forth seasoned troopers ready for much bigger parts on a much bigger stage. Act I: Sophomore Year - Critics Comment, fair. For our debut we proudly exhibited our green and steel class hats, which, all too soon, were put away and forgotten, Tolo week was a unique idea and Ruth LeVan reigned as the first Tolo queen. As sophomore command performances, our cake sale and movie, The Man in the Iron Mask , were hits and supported as an encore our trip beyond the classroom walls to Philadelphia. Act II: Junior Year - Critics Comment, commendable perform- ance. With a little more experience to our credit, we rang up the cur- tain on the year's activities with a successful cord party, To further replenish our funds, the class presented a movie, The Phantom of the Opera . The joy in showing off our class rings, which finally arrived in December, overshadowed our disappointment in not being able to visit the U, N. The deserving six - Ronald Barnes, James Spitler, Virginia Kunkelman, Ruth LeVan, Sigrid Finster, and Eleanor Terenchin were inducted into the National Honor Society. Cheering our not-too-successful teams an to victory were Ruth LeVan, Zoe Ann Esslinger, Mary Lou Saltzman, Arlene Speece, and Eleanor Terenchin. Who can forget the tense Student Council election, or the final out- Junior-Senior Prom, Serving as host and hostess over the evening s festivities were Cinderella, Sally Norton, and Prince Charming, Robert De Beck. Act III: Senior Year - Critics Comment a hit! As the curtain rose on this last momentous act we shouldered the responsibilities of seniors by iniecting the much needed school spirit into the various functions. We soon learned All's fair in love war, and P, A. D. , especially around test time. As our class student directors, James Spitler, James Emerick, Margaret Demming, and Virginia Kunkelman prompted us through the year. Sports took a back seat to the gay, imaginative formations of our outstanding band. X A class mixer started off the year in the through the Christmas season and the gala Tinsel Twirl, The star scholars - Patricia Beaver, Gloria Keller, Joan Creitz, Janet Poore, James Emerick, Nancy Dobbs, Margaret Demming, Thomas Champlin, Wayne Phillips, and Gayle Auchenbach ducted into the National Honor Society. ., f X Xxx right spirit, which continued IX' I Q 4 x V . were rewarded by being in- come? Then as the last curtain call, the magical enchantment of the 'x .X f , ff f X . X As the year progressed we found ourselves busily occupied with dress rehearsals. In conjunction with the al Honor Society presented Springtime Waltz , a semi- formal dance. Coronation was chosen as our May Terenchin as Queen for the day. Down to Earth was our very success- ful senior class play. Then as a final dress rehearsal the Junior-Senior Prom Starlight , set the mood of moonlight and roses. All too soon our final scene arrived. The curtain rose and upon the stage appeared the seasoned troopers making their debut in Premiere , the result of I2 years of laborious rehearsal. Then as graduation became only a memory, the house lights dimmed and we found ourselves on a dark, empty stage. Our high school days will always be fondly remembered by the class of '53 as we go on to starring parts in the greatest all - life. Student Council, the Nation- XX X, f ' Saxxxx il W.
