RQ When and where to go on a class trip, is the prob- lem confronting June Pounder, Fred Muenz, Joan Beidler, Jackie Merkel, Carl Reb- er, and Ebbo Hog- strom of the clciss trip committee. Patti Promos explains the Get Ac- quainted party to the rest of the Social Committee comprised of Betty Paulson, Floyd Krick, Joan Snyder, Robert Keim, and lra Hartman. 42 X , , . . les: 5 nl 3, Trying to decide between roses or carnations are Phyllis Dry, Cynthia Dedekind, Audrey Scagnelli, Dore- en Stroup, Dawn Weber, and Bruce Koch of the flow- er, motto, and gift committee. 4' COMMITTEES REFRESHMENT COMMITTEE Hot Dogs! Soft Drinks! Candy! These cries of the refreshment committee lured people to the stands behind which were Doris Camp- bell, Fred Hagstram, Down Weber, Robert Germann, Velma Kaiser, Jean Douple, Fred Muenz, Jackie Slichter, Patti Promos, and Melvin Fitterling. Jackie Slichter, Floyd Hertzog, Robert Shoup, Lawrence DeBeck, LaVerne Wartluft, Bruce Koch, and Ruth Sebastian wonder how far they can stretch the dollar in their capacity as ways and means committee, What size cop and gown is the question in the mind of the committee consisting of Rose Ann Najarian, Doris Adams, Jean Ruoss, Jean Douple, Lois Beekey, and Nancy Hopp. K 5 .. if .4-as CLASS HISTORY Sitting in the auditorium waiting for Baccalaureate practice to commence, my mind be- gan to wander back over our happy years in high school. The person beside me had the same look of remembering in her eyes and soon all the highlights of our past years began flashing back to us. Remember our carefree junior high years? Our trip to Philadelphia, where we visited the Inquirer Building and Franklin Institute. It sure was loads of fun, The thing I remember most was eating at the Horn and Hardart Restaurant, retorted my neighbor. We were really proud of Doris Adams, Joan Beidler, and Pattie Unger when they be- came Pony Cheerleaders. Then tenth grade rolled around, with our wonderful maroon and white class hats ar- riving. Our cake sale was a huge success and so was our movie 'Stagecoach'. Remember Robert Shoup as president, Thomas Sprucebank, Ebba Hagstrom, and La- Verne Wartluft comprised the remainder of our sophomore officers. Gee, it looks like ractice is about to be in I uess we'll have to continue our reminis- ll I cences later. Now that practice is over, I should be going home, but ,,ec c,c,eeee,,, . . Robert Shoup, Ebba Hagstrom, Doris Adams, and Lois Beekey directed our junior year activities. Our first big task was the Junior Class Card Party held at the West Lawn Fire Com- pany. The Saint Patrick's Day Dance, the Shillelah Shag, was also a big success. But our big event was our junior prom held at the fire hall. Remember the theme, the circus, for the prom? It certainly went over with a bang. The big trip our class took was to the United Nations. The trip to New York was the first of its kind for a Junior Class. It was a very exciting trip for us, seeing all the important people there. Golly, this year was really a year to remember. I feel like crying when I think back over all the fun we've had. Remember our Christmas dance, the 'Kris Kringle Kaper,' and remember the beautiful decorations at the 'Snowflake Fantasy', the first mid-winter formal in the school's history. We went to the Berks County Court House to view several trials and then the seniors made a solemn trip to the Berks County Prison. A visit was just enough for us! An educational field trip was made by the Senior Chemistry Classes to the Maiden Creek Filtering Plant. We were amazed when we saw what had to be done to make the water purel The month of March was high-lighted by our trip to Harrisburg seeing all the govern- ment officials. On April IO, our class visited Washington. Although April showers accompanied us, the cherry blossoms were still very pretty. Boy, was it hard getting up for school next morning! On May 2, May Day, the senior girls put in their last public appearance in school ac- tivities. Vivacious Jackie Slichter was chosen May Queen, while Cynthia Dedekind, Ebba Hagstrom, LaVerne Wartluft, Lois Beekey, and Joan Beidler were her attendants. Of course our class trip to New York will long be remembered by all. lt is very sad when you realize that all that is remaining for our class is commence- ment, but l'm sure the class of '5I' will long remember its high school years. The juniors combined their efforts to attain many goals this term. The card party and movie proved to be huge successes both financially and socially. The Easter dance was a very gala affair. The juniors entertained the seniors at the festive Junior-Senior Prom held at the Albright College Student Union Building amid colorful decorations. These energetic students will long be remembered as hard-working Wilsonites. JUNIOR CLASS The Big Four of the Junior Class pause in their plans for the Card Party to pose for Joe Lomas, the photographer. The sophomore class hats had arrived! Later in the year the tenth graders were in the limelight again. This time it was their class movie, The Man in the Iron Mask, which was shown on March second. Toward the end of the school term they held their bake sale to raise money for the class treasury. All in all it was a very successful term, and we are sure that they will all be back next year, rarin' to go.
