Wllson Highlights The Wilson Ramblers will roll no more next fall the blue and gold will turn to Columbia blue and white Wilson as a high school will be a memory This IS the final year that WIISOH Wlll function as Junior and senior high school Wilson Junior High was opened September 8 1925 and functioned as a Junior high until 1936 when a new wing was added to provide and serve as a com brned Junior and senior high Miss Jennie Post served as senior hrgh principal and Mr Fred Kluss as Junior high principal This Post retired At that time a room of the school was dedicated in her honor and is known as the Jennie Post room ln this room was placed an orrgmal painting YoungCorn by Grant Wood a grade school student of Mrss Post Mr Pierre Tracy assistant principal and boys counselor replaced Miss Post as prmcrpar and has been serving rn that capacity ever since At Wilson we have had a number of outstanding teachers and fortunately we have lost very few Death has taken four Wilson teachers since 1945 Miss Thelma Morton mathematics Miss Agnes Hrb ness mathematics Mr Charles Easker mathematics and coach and Mr Nels Lee physrcal education An outstanding event at Wilson has been the Youth Conference wluch was started in May 1938 by Miss Post and Miss Henrietta Franks girls counselor Another event that has been outstanding IS the an nualChr1stmas pageant Wilson has participated in the foreign student exchange since 1950 The f1ISI foreign student was Kertuu Suomela from Fmland In the period that Wilson has been a high school many outstanding accomplishments have been made in athletics dramatrcs music and art to say nothing of the accomplishments rn the academic field The yearbook staff and the 1957 graduating class hope that this final edmon of the Rambler will hold a lasting remembrance of those events and that the seniors of Jefferson High School will leave their school with the same regrets that we who are senrors this year are leaving Wilson O 0 0 U .
