Just imagine! Our dream had come true after patiently waiting for years. Friday, May 26, l939, had finally arrived. For many weeks previous to the great event, there had been an air of breathless expectancy among the Juniors and Seniors. Promptly at 8:30, the guests began to arrive, presenting their formal invitations at the door. Exclamations of sur- prise and approval came from everyone upon entering the room. Palms, flowers, and huge clusters of gayly color- ed balloons lent the occasion a festive and beautiful at- mosphere. Indirect spot lights softened the colors and played upon the orchestra and the balloons. The large silver screen behind the orchestra added that certain touch which set the orchestra off as the main feature. cob av Q Fred Scoggin was general chairman assisted by a gre many committees. Patricia Frylinger, as mistress of ceremoni s assisted by Patricia Palmquist and John Dunne w gave vocal selections accompanied by Elaine Meier. Attractive dance programs were presented to each person and Wilson's red and white colors were predomin- ant on the programs and small pencils. Music was fur- nished by the popular George Snyder's Orchestra. ,The grand march presented the climax of the eve- ning. Its various intricate formations afforded a better opportunity to see all who attended. After the march, fluffy nets, bright prints, and soft pastel colors, could again be seen floating rhythmically around the softly lighted gym. It presented a beautiful picture, one which those who attended will remember for many years to come. elt to i ht, Front R w: . Hickman, D. Miller. H. Monitor, M. Grohl, M. Haley, M. J urr . Being separated into various home rooms, we did not feel or act as a whole until our class was organized. immediately we drew up and ratified a constitu- tion, elected officers, and planned money-making protects, the first of which was an ice-skating party which was held at the Hippodrome and was a huge success. Oh, those weary weeks of selling tickets which ended in a lot of fun and the happy knowledge that we had something in our treasury! Meetings throughout the year were work and fun for everyone, and the class appreciates the aid and co- operation that was given by our two advisers, Mrs. Asp and Mrs. Mittelstadt. The high spot of the year, of course, was the Jun- ior-Senior Prom, when we lowly Juniors were honored at being in the grand company of the splendid Seniors. The Prom was gay and beautiful, in spite of the work and mix- ups, and we look forward to planning next year's which will be our last, and our farewell to Wilson. All in all, our Junior year was a fine and happy one, and to you who are now Sophomores, we bequeath cl bright future. As Freshmen we were awed, as Sophomores we toiled, as Juniors we labored but had fun,--what will happen when we are SENIORS? ,, ' .5 K1 1 'jr sk. sr. The Minneapolis Vocational gave Wilson a new star, Ross Robinson, a transfer from Hibbing. He twice with a brilliant display of open field running. Misfortune seemed to hit the squad from all sides the next week. Coach .lim Peller was forced to be ab- sent by an injury, and the finest blocking and tackling back that ever donned a uniform for Wilson, Carl Larson, received injuries that forced him out for the rest of the season. To bring down the curtain on the 1939 season, Wilson fell before a big Marshall squad-i2 to O. In spite of the fact of a somewhat dis- appointing season, Coach Zucco was nevertheless mighty proud of his stal- wart boys. Be- cause of our admittance to the New Senior High School Con- ference, the boys knew that they had a tough job ahead of them, but with the spirit and determination typical of Wilson teams, they stepped into the fight with a will.
