COUNCIL STRIVES TO BOOST SPIRIT This year, the Student Council sold candy to make money, and sponsored “Beat Healdton Week.” (Incidentally, we did.) Also sponsored were the Homecoming activities: selecting judges for the best float, and awarding trophies to the winners. The council also sponsored the parade downtown the day of the Homecoming. Old members conducted a membership drive at the first of this year, which resulted in a record membership of 38, over last year’s total of 19. Invitations to join the Wilson chapter of Beta Club were given to prospective new members, and a get-acquainted party was held. Election of officers was held shortly afterward, and three new members were elected to the offices of secretary, reporter, and game chairman. Bill Holloway President
