In Memory Vernon Straughn Barry Robinson On the afternoon of June 14, 1955, and again on the evening of Oct. 19, 1955, the town of Wilson and the entire community was shocked and saddened by the tragic deaths of Barry Robinson and Vernon Straughn. Barry was killed in an oil field accident shortly after having completed his sophomore year at Oklahoma A. M. College. Vernon was killed in an automobile accident enroute to Wichita Falls. Both men were graduates of the Wilson High School -- Barry in the Class of '53 and Vernon in the Class of '32. At the time of his death the latter was serving as Home Room Dad for the present senior class of which his son, Glenn, is a member. Both men were loved and highly esteemed by former classmates, teachers, and their many friends.
