May this annual represent to you son® of the memories of the Wilson School that have passed your way in 1950-51 Enough credit could not be given to the annual staff for their endeavor and unceasing effort to give a better annual. No annual could give a complete picture of all the curriculum and school activities, but we hope this year will be one that you can remember with pride for having been a part of the Wilson School. The present and the future seem to hold no peace, only war, but maybe you can find a kind of peace of heart and mind that will outlive the threat of this or any other war. That kind of peace can be developed in all v iho really try to do the right things for others.

SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE I To the Annual Staff: I appreciate your invitation to write a message for the 1950-51 Eagle's Voice. I have watched with interest and gratitude the growth of our school program and school spirit. New subjects, such as Speech, Physics, Driver Education, Vocational Home Economics, Band, Music, and new Shop Courses are meeting a definite need in our school and community. The growth of our district by annexations, and the increasing number of elementary students place greater responsibility on our teaching staff. Board of Education, and our community. If we believe in ourselves and the future of Wilson, we can adequately meet t hese responsibilities by cooperative endeavors. In these uncertain times, all of us - teachers, students, and patrons - who believe in free public schools and the democratic way of life should keep ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually alert to shoulder any responsibilities that may be suddenly thrust upon us in defending our way of life. I wish to express appreciation to our splendid sut-dent body, for a pleasant and constructive school year; also, to tne faculty. Board of Education P. T. A., and all other patrons who want the best possible advantages for our children, the citizens of tomorrow.

We appreciate the opportunity of having our message from the Elementary school included in the Yearbook. Today America faces the greatest crisis in education in its history. The heavy responsibility of guiding our youth in a way that will insure that our democratic way of life will be retained is a joint task of school, home and community. We cherish the friendly relationship which exists between the school and community. Let us continue working together, helping each other in the sacred task of guiding our youth. Only in this way can we give our children the best training toward the high values which will send them marching along the bright road to tomorrow. Chalmer Langston Principal South Ward Elementary
