football seas cm of 1947 Jh« first game of the football season started with great success for the Wilson Eagles. We defeated the Marietta Indians to win the first game of the season. It was one of the deciding games for District 4B. After the defeat of Marietta we played Waurika. Wo tied them and the next two games we lost to Arctaore and Healdton. The defeat of Fax, Ringling, Velma-Alma, Dundee, and Graham brought us into the State play-off. We defeated Purcell with a score of 19-0 to win the Bi-District title. Next we played Elk City on Thanksgiving Day for the Regional title and were defeated by a score of 26-0 which ended our football season of 1947. After the season ended the squad was entertained with the annual Football Banquet which was enjoyed by all. During the banquet pictures of the Elk City ball-game were shown and trophies were presented. The boys presented their coach, Aaron Dry, with a coach's trophy which made the year complete.
