Boy Scout Troop No. 43 is composed almost entirely of Junior High boys. The Girl Scout movement is carried on by Junior High girls. More than half of the membership of the 4-H Club are Jun ior High students. Their pride and joy was the basketball team which completed the season undefeated. HAND i' CM C- c t'- Cl © © I—I X MUSIC DEPARTMENT The Music Department is composed of both the vocal and instrumental groups. This department under the supervision of Miss Eva Austin has made great advance both in the understanding and actual performance of many musical programs. During the football season the band had the priviledge of presenting marching maneuvers at both the home and away from home games. The mixed chorus was also active the first semester. They sold candles and with the aid of Mr. Gandy and his truck sang Christmas carols to all the purchasers. The pre-Christmas festivities were climaxed with a Christmas Cantata by the entire mixed chorus Friday afternoon December 20, 1946. Hie second semester found both gijoups showing a much greater improvement in technique and sightreading. This wa3 partly due to the South Central Fine Arts Contest in which we entered to represent the Wilson High School. Wilson was represented at Durant and Ringling in the following contests: marching band, playing band, reed quartet, brass quartet, cornet, clarinet, trombone, baritone, saxophone, and melophone solos, girls glee club, boys glee club, and mixed chorus, boys quartet, girls quartet, and mixed quartet, soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto, tenor, baritone, and bass solos.
